Body care & Primark Haul – Budget friendly makeup

Hi everyone!!

A couple of days a go I nipped into Body Care and soon found myself staring at the makeup section.. I thought it’d be a good idea to get a few cheap items to talk about on the blog because sometime you just need a decent extra cheap go to item! So I do have to admit I accidentally threw the receipt away so I can’t remember the exact price of some of these items but nothing was over £3.  – Rookie error I know!!

So the first item I picked up was the Sultry eyeshadow palette by Technic. I really liked the green shades because I don’t have many shadows in these colours so I thought it was something a little different. It turns out my favourite is the golden bronze shade, its so pretty. All the colours are actually really lovely and fairly pigmented for such a cheap mini palette!! I think it was about £2.

Next I got the Cream to Powder Foundation from the Body Collection. I was super skeptical about this product because cheaper foundation type productions are usually not that great. But I thought I’d give it a go because I liked the gold packaging (I love gold if you hadn’t realised). The pro is that it’s really buildable if that makes sense, you can put a little bit on at a time. I didn’t use the sponge that is given, I used a foundation brush. Honestly, this product is not as bad as I was expecting. I think it would be good when I need a little more colour as the shades are kind of too dark for me even though I got the palest looking one there. I probably won’t buy it again, but at less than £2 I can’t complain!

I picked up the Mega Blush by Technic next because the palest two shades really stood out to me. They looked like princess colours and at the price I couldn’t resist!! I’m really impressed with this blush in all honesty, the colours are lovely and have a little shimmer in them too. They don’t stay on the face all day though which is the only bad thing but I still really like this.

This lipstick by Technic was only 99p!!! Which is unbelievable. The shade doesn’t have a name or a number but it’s sort of like a berry redish pink. I really love the colour as it’s a bit darker than quite a lot of my fave lipsticks but it’s not so dark either. It’s a nice colour for the current season too! The lipstick goes on really nicely and doesn’t feel at all drying on the lips, it’s one of those lipsticks that feel really light to the point you have to check it’s still there. I was surprised at the staying power of this lipstick given the price but I only re-applied it after I ate, other than that it stayed on! I think I will be using this quite a bit now, I’m really pleased I found a good cheap lipstick, usually the cheaper ones aren’t good at all.

That’s all I bought from Body Care but then I decided to take a trip to Primark’s beauty section. When I got there it was super busy as it was a Saturday and I honestly can’t deal with Primark on a busy day (CLAUSTROPHOBIAAA!!!) – So I only ended up picking up one thing there which was a pack of 3 nail polish’s at £2.50. The packaging is really pretty, the cute stripes of the box and the rose gold bottle tops I absolutely adore. The colours are metallic and glitter, which girl could say no??

As you can see on the pictures, the pink glitter polish looks much nicer on top of another polish! I did it on its own and on top of the others just so you could see. I do really like the metallic ones, specially the pinkier one.

That’s it!! Over all I was really pleasantly surprised by the cheaper makeup and will definitely be checking out some other things. I think I am going to go to Primark on the a less busy day to pick out some other things that I will review on here for you. Hope you enjoyed my post!!
