My views on animal testing & animal products

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the cruelty involved with testing on animalsĀ and the conflicting decisions as consumers we have to make.

In an ideal world, beauty brands would not test on animals. I’m pretty sure most, if not all, of you would agree with that statement. There are a lot of drugstore brands that are on PETA’s list of brands which do test on animals which is a real disappointment to people who, like me, are on a budget. It’s simply not an option to throw out all of my makeup and replace it with brands which are cruelty free. However, in order to support these companies which don’t test on animals I think I will start to buy products from them and I urge you to at least check out their stuff. I will write below which brands do and don’t test on animals. If I could, I would go completely cruelty free right now and hope to do so eventually.

As for wearing real fur and leather, I think this is totally avoidable and will definitely not be purchasing any myself. I watched a video on Twitter shared by PETA which was about real fur and leather and it was extremely difficult to watch. Fake fur and leather are affordable, feel great and avoid cruelty!

Brands which DO test on animals
Estee Lauder
Bobbi Brown
Max Factor
Make Up For Ever
Yves Saint Laurent
L’oreal (Bit of a funny one, they claim to not but they are on PETA’s list)

Brands which DON’T test on animals
Anastasia Beverly Hills
Wet n Wild
Urban Decay
Kat Von D
Makeup Geek
Barry M
Too Faced

As you can see there are a lot of brands which do not test on animals which is amazing!! Hopefully the drugstore brands will stop soon too :).

Whats your opinion? Thanks for reading, Jazmin xx
