As some of you may know, I’m not much of a baker. Since starting Uni last year though, I have improved a bit. I was browsing Christmas recipes online and found one for gingerbread syrup which looked really simple and since I love gingerbread I thought it would be perfect. I’m pleasantly surprised by how well it turned out and decided to share it with you for day four of Blogmas!!
This syrup really tastes amazing and only takes about 5-10 minutes to make and would make a great Christmas present for someone. You can use it in hot chocolate, coffee, on ice cream, whatever you feel like really!
All the ingredients you need are:
200ml water
300g golden caster sugar
1 cinnamon stick
1 tablespoon of ground ginger
Method:
Put the water, golden caster sugar, ground ginger and cinnamon stick into a pan and bring to a boil. Leave until simmering and all the sugar has dissolved. Once all this is done, take out the cinnamon stick (which I found out is actually just for flavouring and doesn’t dissolve into the syrup). Leave to cool and then carefully pour into your chosen container. I used a little glass bottle and added a ribbon for decoration.
I hope you enjoyed this and let me know if you have a go at making this yummy syrup!!!
Love Jazmin xx
