I wanted to make a post promoting GOMO (Going Out More Often) which is something that Eventbrite are supporting again this year as they did last. After hearing about GOMO I thought it was a great idea which I definitely wanted to get on board with. GOMO promotes experiences rather than things. We will always remember special moments and times spent with the people we love more than something we buy on a whim! Of course, I love shopping as most of you readers do too but it is definitely true that experiences create memories that last an entire life time.. not just a five month shelf life! This is why I want to share with you my bucket list for 2017 full of the events and experiences I want to do – maybe it will inspire you too.
If you’re not familiar with Eventbrite, it is the largest self-service ticketing platform in the world! Not only can you buy tickets for loads of awesome stuff from Eventbrite, you can also set up and plan events yourself which I think is really cool and makes planning events a little easier and more accessible. If you’re interested in planning your own event or want to learn more about event registration software, definitely check it out!
MY BUCKET LIST
Stand Up Comedy show
I really enjoy watching comedy. I have been to a couple of the Hot Water Comedy Club shows and I think they are absolutely hilarious and so fun. The first time I went was mine and my boyfriends first date and since then we re-visited last September for his birthday. Hot Water Comedy Club is in Liverpool and they have weekly shows. If you’re around the area then you should check it out. If not, find a comedy club near you. You will not be disappointed. I can’t wait to go again this year.
Beer festivals are one of my favourite events and I will definitely be going to a few more this year. Especially in the summer! It’s great because there are so many different one’s around which are always full of talkative friendly people and they are always so much fun. And don’t worry – you don’t have to drink just beer..
There are a few different ones on Eventbrite at the moment so check them out there. There will also probably be some in your area too so have a look around.
Alton Towers (Theme Park)
If you’re from the UK you will know what Alton Towers is. If not, it is the best theme park ever. I cannot express how much I love going to Alton Towers. I’m definitely a Roller Coaster junkie so I love love love visiting any theme park. Me, my family and my best friends family usually go every Halloween to Scare Fest.. mainly because it stays open later then and going on the rides in the dark is amazing.
I may not look like I like camping, due to my love of all things girly, but I do really enjoy it. I used to go a lot when I was younger with my best friend and our Dads. We’ve been to Scotland, Wales, Yorkshire; but my favourite place to camp is the Lake District. Grasmere specifically is absolutely beautiful and worth visiting if you can get there. It is full of independent cafe’s and little souvenir shops. If you don’t fancy staying in a tent, there’s always caravans and hotels!
At least once in your life, you have to experience the Theatre! It’s so fun and the atmosphere is amazing. This year I definitely want to go and see another show – and being in Liverpool surrounded by different Theatre’s it shouldn’t be a problem.
A day on the beach in the sun is absolutely bliss. Grabbing a mint choc chip ice-cream and getting lost in a good book is a really relaxing experience which is a must this year. The weather here is finally coming nice so the beach is on the cards very soon.
It’s been years since I have been inside an Aquarium but I used to love the Blue Planet Aquarium when I was younger. My mum used to take me and we’d be able to stroke the sting rays and watch the shark shows. I want to go again this year now I’m older and I’m 100% sure it’ll be just as good.
The final thing on my bucket list is visiting Krakow for holiday this summer. This is already booked and I’m counting down the days. I’m so excited to go here with my boyfriend and his family because Poland is a gorgeous country to visit (I went to Poznan last year). I enjoy travelling and seeing new places and Krakow has been on my list for a long time because of my love of History. It’s going to be really interesting to finally go. We have already agreed that we will visit the football stadium for a tour. My sister loves Krakow so I think I will too.
That’s it! I can’t wait to do some of these things this year with my loved ones and create some unforgettable memories. Don’t forget to check out Eventbrite to some amazing events near you or to create one of your own easily!
