Diorskin Forever Foundation review

So recently, after watching a few Jaclyn Hill youtube videos, I decided to purchase Diorskin Forever Foundation. At £35, this isn’t really a foundation you should buy on a whim… But since I still have a full Estee Lauder Double Wear since I got it as a gift on my birthday and usually I’d be about due to re purchase that one, I thought I’d allow myself this Dior one!
I’ve worn this enough now to give you an informed review incase any of you lovely readers were thinking about getting this foundation in time for Summer.

The Packaging
Dior forever foundation
You get a standard 30ml of product which is in a fairly heavy thick glass bottle which is super sturdy. It comes with a pump which is definitely a plus as you manage to get your moneys worth and use all of the product. You also get a black plastic lid. The bottle comes in a blue box which has all the info on it you need. Of course, you also get a leaflet inside the box with more info on.

The Claims
The foundation boasts of ‘shine control’, ‘everlasting wear’ and ‘pore-refining effect’. It will give you apparently ‘perfect makeup’. The foundation has SPF35 which is great for the upcoming Summer months. Here are some claims from the leaflet:
‘Soft-focus powders help smooth the skin’s surface and reflect light, while mattifying powders help absorb excess sebum’
‘The professional perfection of a matte finish, for a face that is lively and full of expression.’
‘This exclusive long-wearing “stretch” formula works like a delicate stocking over the skin… an initial acrylic polymer helps improve the fluid foundation’s hold throughout the day to prevent streaking. A second hydro-formulated polymer adds ideal flexibility to the film, for a sensation of optimal comfort.’
‘The skin’s texture appears refines, thanks to the formula boosted by the “Poreless Effect” technology, a skincare essence that targets pore-related problems – dryness, dilation and slackening.’

So, the claims cover everything and sounds great! It sounds like it will be perfect for all skin types. Lets see what it was like when it was put to the test!

My Review

After being colour matched in store, I was told I need number 10 – Ivory which I believe is the palest shade (10 is the lowest number, however number 12 is called porcelain). Ivory has yellow undertones, which you can see from the swatch above. It is ever so slightly too dark for my natural skin tone, however, with it being Summer I can get away with it for now! If 10 is the palest shade, then this may not be the foundation for you super pale skin beauties, depending on your preference.

Foundation Dior

This is me with nothing but the foundation applied to my face

The foundation gives you a medium coverage with somehow a matte but luminous healthy looking finish. If like me you are used to a full heavy coverage, don’t worry! Because once you’ve applied concealer under your eyes etc, it looks beautiful.
The perfume scent is quite strong. I personally like this as it smells like Summer and is actually quite refreshing, but it is something to have in mind before purchasing.

I use a flat foundation brush to apply this and it doesn’t streak at all, it blends easily and perfectly into the skin and isn’t stiff at all. It doesn’t seem to stick to my dry patches either, which some foundations definitely can!
I only set the areas I use concealer when using this foundation as I like the luminous, slightly dewy look of the foundation.

The wear of the foundation is long. It didn’t oxidise on me and the finish remained as much the same as it can be expected too. I did experience a small amount of patching on my lower cheeks once I had had it on all day though. This was nothing that couldn’t be sorted with a little bit of concealer and blending.

Dior foundation

This is once I have applied the rest of my makeup.

All in all, I do believe this foundation is worth the money if you are looking for something that lasts long and looks healthy but isn’t heavy or super full coverage.

I hope you found this review helpful.

Jazmin xx

Do you think this would cover redness I have from blemishes?

It would definitely lessen the redness and cover it quite a lot, however you might need a little bit of concealer if any of the redness is particularly bad 🙂 x
