Recreating Shaaanxo’s Cosmopolitan cocktail makeup look

Hi guys,

Yesterday I watched Shaaanxo’s makeup look youtube video and I thought the end result was absolutely stunning. The look she created was a pink look inspired by a Cosmopolitan cocktail, which is part of her new ‘cocktail series’. If you want to see the video then you can check it out here. Since I loved it so much I decided to give it a go myself. If you want to know how I recreated the look, please keep on reading!

Step one – Base: I first primed my face using the L’oreal infallible primer (£7.99), as always. Once this was done I took a flat foundation brush and applied the Collection Lasting Perfection foundation (£5.99) in the shade Porcelain. I usually have to lighten this foundation a little, but now it’s summer I don’t seem to have to.. yay!

Step two – Eyes: I first took my Morphe s25 and did my eyebrows using Anastasia Beverly Hills dipbrow pomade (£15) in the shade medium brown.
Then I took the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette (£41) which was used to create the majority of this eye look. I used the brush in the palette and applied the cream shade Tempera all over my lid. Then, using the same brush I placed the taupe type colour, Buon Fresco in my crease to act as a transition shade. Next I took my Morphe s27 and applied Love Letter roughly in my crease. I used quite a lot of this to create a nice deep pink colour. Once this was blended out nicely and I was happy, I applied Red Ochre in my outer v area and more precisely in my crease using my Morphe s12. I blended these colours together. I next took my Flutter quad palette (pictured above). I can’t remember how much this was and can’t seem to find it online at the moment, it was less than £5 though so super affordable. I took the pale pink shimmery shade and applied it on the inner half of my lid using my finger.
Next I took Mac Impassioned lipstick (£16.50) and used my tiny Morphe s8 makeup brush and applied it to my lower lash line. I know obviously it’s lipstick so not really made for eyes, so before you do anything like this make sure it’s safe near your eyes and be extra careful. I added Rimmel Scandal Eyes kohl nude eyeliner (£3.99) in my water line.
I took my Rimmel Exaggerate liquid eyeliner (£5.29) and created a wing. I then used the single eyeshadow from Look Beauty, Statement Eyes in the shade Khaki, I applied this under my wing a little in my centre of my lower lash line using my Morphe s8. (I cannot find this shadow online anywhere!! I got it given to me on a makeup course.)
After curling my lashes I used my Mac In Extreme Dimension 3D mascara (£19.50) on my lashes and then applied Eyeronic Lashes in the style Ariel (£9.50).

Step three – Finishing: I used Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer (£5.49) under my eyes and on any blemishes, I used my Morphe s4 for this. I applied Rimmel Stay matte powder (£3.99) in the shade Peach Glow all over my face to set my foundation. I used the Real Techniques contour brush (which featured in my May Favourites 2017).
I then used the lightest contour shade in the NYX beauty school dropout, back to basics palette (£30) on my Morphe s13 brush. Next I applied Max Factor creme puff blusher (£8.99) on the shade Lovely Pink. I applied quite a lot of this using my Real Techniques contour brush. Then, sticking with the pink theme, I took my Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl illuminator (£21) in the shade Charming Pink and highlighted my cheek bones, brow bones, inner corner and cupids bow with my morphe s26 brush.
Finally I used Mac Honeylove matte lipstick (£16.50) with a touch of Natural Collection clear lipgloss (£1.99) on top.

Here’s the finished look:

What do you think? I know it’s not exactly the same as Shaaanxo’s look but its pretty similar! Hope you enjoyed this.
