What I use when my skin needs some TLC

Hi guys!

I really wanted to make a post talking about my favourite skin care products for when my skins a little worse for wear and needs the extra help. Sometimes, my skin feels very textured and bumpy and needs a deep exfoliate and clean. I’ve picked out four of my ‘can’t live without’ products which I don’t use on a daily basis but definitely need in my life.

Nivea Gentle Exfoliating Scrub (Normal & Combo skin)
Since I have quite sensitive yet dry skin, finding a scrub which is effective enough but doesn’t break me out due to being too abrasive is pretty difficult. I’ve tried a few different ones and just never been happy with the outcome. Since I love the Nivea micellar water and moisturiser I thought I’d give their face scrub a go too and I have to say I love it a lot. It has quite a lot of scrubby particles in there which really smooth my skin and get rid of dry patches and texture. I use this about once a week and my skin feels very healthy and glowy for it. If you don’t have sensitive skin you could probably use it twice a week. (The packaging says to use 2-3 times a week).
Price: £3.99 – currently on offer at Superdrug for £1.95

L’oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask
It’s likely that you will have heard of this clay mask by L’oreal because it was really raved about not long ago. I won’t go into too much detail here as I did a review on it not long back, which you can check out here if you haven’t already seen it. But I love how this makes my skin feel! It really helps sort out any excess oil (yes my dry skin does get oily in my pores too!) and removes a lot of the horrible stuff that gathers in the pores. It doesn’t remove every single blackhead but it really reduces the size and appearance. I like to use this about once every ten days.. I’d use it more but I just never find the time.
Price: £7.99 – currently on offer at Superdrug for £6

Lush Fresh Farmacy
Lush is a great brand if you have sensitive skin as everything is natural, so of course I had to delve into their skin care range. I picked this up to use when my skin seems to be feeling oily/greasy. My every day skin care is tailored to dry skin but sometimes in the hot weather, although I have dry patches my skin starts producing a lot of oil. Therefore, I needed to pick up something that would get rid of the oil. I love this gentle cleanser bar as its full of really beneficial ingredients such as chamomile oil, lavender oil, tea tree oil and rose absolute. My skin feels so balanced and fresh after using this. I tend to use it about once a week.
Price: £6.45 for 100g

Garnier Daily Rich Moisturiser (dry to very dry skin)
This moisturiser by Garnier is super rich and nourishing to the skin. It has a very thick consistency and it really makes my skin feel deeply moisturised and plump. I only use this when my skins feeling super dry as it is quite heavy. I’ll apply it before bed and in the morning my skins lovely and and soft. Also the smell is fresh and amazing.
Price: £3.99

Hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you’ve tried any of these or plan on doing so in the comments below!

The clay detox mask looks amazing! Something I definitely would love to get my hands on in the near future. I’m sure a detox would be perfect for oily skin.
