L’oreal Pure Clay glow mask review

Earlier this year I purchased and reviewed the L’oreal Pure Clay detox mask, after it was so highly spoken about and hyped up. I ended up loving the detox mask and it has become a staple in my skin care routine, for when my skin’s needing some extra love!
Whilst putting in an order to boots for another jar of the detox mask, I noticed the glow mask from the same range. I have heard people speak about this mask too, and since it claims to be good for brightening the skin, I stuck it straight in my basket.

Overview & Claims
There are three versions of this mask, the glow mask, the detox (which I’ve just spoken about) and the purify. Each jar costs £7.99 and will give you 10 applications. I personally think each jar has more than 10 applications, but I suppose it depends on how thick you like to apply your masks.

This glow mask contains three pure clays: Koalin, Montmorillonite and Ghassoul. It also contains red algae, an ingredient which enhances the skins ability to retain moisture.

Overall, this mask claims to brighten and exfoliate the skin. Immediately after use the skin should be ‘softer, smoother and brighter’. After one week of continued use, ‘pores feel tighter’ and ‘skin texture is refined’. There after, the mask claims to visibly transform the skin, giving it ‘an even healthy glow’.

How To Use
After cleaning your skin thoroughly, apply a layer of the mask all over your face being careful to avoid your eyes and lips. Once it is applied, leave to dry on the face for about 10 minutes. The box says to remove with a wet tower or warm water however I prefer to jump in the shower to avoid all the mess! You should do this 2-3 times a week.

Review
On opening the jar, the mask itself was a red/orange colour which actually just reminded me of pure natural clay! The smell was pleasant, I felt like I could detect hints of herbs and spice, which isn’t mentioned in the ingredients.. but that’s what it reminded me of.
It felt cool on my face, thinner than the detox mask but still not runny at all. It has little scrubby particles in it, which is a nice added extra to exfoliate the skin on application and removal.
The mask dried down, but didn’t feel super tight on my face (unlike the detox one). The colour didn’t seem to alter either. I jumped in the shower and the mask came off easily.
I felt that my skin was refreshed and a little brighter after use and I was happy with the effects. I think it will be a perfect mask to use the morning of an event etc..

I think the mask is worth the £7.99 for sure. It was super relaxing and the benefits were visible.
