Skin Care Hacks!

Hi everyone!!

Today I wanted to create a little post of skin care hacks. It took me so long to learn how to clean my face properly.. I know that sounds so stupid but I think it can be quite hard to decide which products to use of the many on the market. Β And how to use them correctly! There’s so many things you can do to up your skin care game and things you could be doing wrong which may cause break outs. Just keep reading if you wanna know the hacks I use to keep my skin looking and feeling fresh

Use the products aimed at your skin type
Firstly you need to identify what type of skin you have. Oily? Dry? Sensitive? Combination? Personally I have dry and sensitive skin, therefore I will always go for moisturising washes and products. Almond oil is great for dry skin too! If you have oily skin, make sure you’re going for an oil free product. If you read the bottles in the shop, you will find something perfect for you!

Exfoliate and moisturise!!
I know some people can skip one or both of these steps. It’s easy to avoid exfoliating your skin if you have sensitive skin, however you need to find a gentle scrub which won’t irritate your skin, but will exfoliate it and get rid of all that dead skin.
People with oily skin might want to avoid moisturising as they may feel it will make the problem worse. However, it is important to keep your skin moisturised. Otherwise, your skin can over compensate and produce more oil.

Skin care hacks

Say no to cheap makeup wipes
Like most people, I love a good bargain. So when I see 50p wipes in Primark – I’m drawn in. But these wipes can do more harm than good as they’re so rough on the skin and don’t remove your makeup properly. I personally use the Johnson’s makeup be gone wipes as they are saturated in liquid and are gentle on the skin. I always follow with micellar water.. which leads me to my next hack!

Micellar water is your best friend
Micellar water is the perfect freshen up and clean up for your skin. I always use it to remove excess makeup after using the Johnson’s wipes. I also will use it to get rid of any residue left on my face after cleaning. I also run this over my skin on a cotton pad after a shower to remove any shampoo residue that may be lingering. And if your skin feels bad during the day, micellar water is the one!

Wash your makeup brushes
It’s surprising to me how many people don’t wash their makeup brushes, despite probably knowing they should. I totally get it though, it’s a little bit of a hassle, but it’s totally worth it! Makeup brushes hold so much bacteria which can get spread so easily on your face. Just wash your brushes once every two weeks with a bit of baby shampoo and you’re sorted.

Glow mask 3

Face Masks
Face masks are of course optional and aren’t necessary for clear skin, but they do feel amazing to use and can give you a healthy glow. There are so many great ones on the market which are really affordable. The L’oreal clay masks are worth a look at!

Just find products that work for you and get in a routine. That’s all there is to it. I hope this post was helpful to someone out there! xx

Washing brushes is so important, I also can’t believe how many people don’t do that. I mean isn’t it gross to use same brushes and not washing them for months. xx

I am aaaall about hacks! Before I didn’t use to care about makeup brushes and barely ever cleaned them and then I used to get mixed up products (those that were bad and those that I continue to use) and only started to clean them a few months ago! I am no makeup savvy person but yes, #1 advice is to clean the makeup brushes!!

I agree about the micellar water. I never used to see the point of it, but then I got one in a beauty subscription box and was hooked!
