Products I regret buying

Hi everyone!

We’ve all been there, bought something, been super excited to try it and then been immensely let down when it doesn’t live up to expectations. Honestly, is there any worse feeling?! I wanted to compile a list of the products I definitely regret buying!! Hopefully you don’t make the mistake I did with these products!

Regrets 1

Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo
Even though I usually opt for Batiste dry shampoo, I thought I’d give the Aussie one a go as I know a lot of people use the shampoo and conditioner from this brand. I got the one which says it is mega instant and aimed at normal to greasy hair. I was excited to try this but I was left very disappointed. This did absolutely nothing to the greasiness of my hair. It sort of made my hair go very clumpy, as if all my hairs were stuck together. It was VERY difficult to brush this through my hair too. Save your money!!

Maybelline Baby Lips
Sooo many people seem to love this lip balm, but I seriously hate it. The one I have is ‘Pink Punch’ and it stains my lips bright pink, as well as staining the skin around my lips too. It also does nothing to moisturize my lips in comparison to my trusty tin of vaseline.

Rimmel Stay Matte liquid lip colour – Latte to go
Of all of the products on this list, this is probably the one I am most let down by. I literally ordered this online after watching Soph Does Nails on youtube rave about this product in the exact colour I got. Honestly, it looks so pretty on her but it is the worst lipstick I have ever had! It’s seriously got me debating whether I got a dodgy batch?! It look extremely streaky on my lips, for the life of my I cannot get an even application. I have tried to make this work numerous times but I always end up taking it off.

AWFUL

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation
Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike this foundation? It gives me no coverage at all, looks very dull on the skin, and doesn’t last well at all. I know so many people love this foundation, and if it works for you then great! I just wish it worked for me. In my opinion, I’d much rather L’oreal true match of Max Factor face finity for a drugstore foundation.

L’oreal Miss Baby Roll mascara
Another product I heard great things from before purchasing but I just don’t like! I find I don’t get much volume and definitely not much length from this mascara. I’m trying to use this tube up on no makeup makeup days because I bought it, and it looks okay so I may as well use it up. But I won’t be repurchasing. If you’re looking for a good drugstore mascara, Maybelline Lash Sensational is much better!

Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel
I bought this in the mini version to take away with me on holiday a while back. I didn’t even end up taking it with me. I felt that my face just didn’t feel clean after using this. Usually gel washes leave me feeling refreshed so I was disappointed that this one didn’t.

I’ve literally just bought the Simple face wash to go away next week and I’m instantly regretting it. What did you decide to take instead?

Oh dear, so sorry for your disappointments, it definately sucks. I read it and was like ‘what?!, even Maybelline fit me foundation’?? 😀 Love this blog. Its very candid and shows that not every product will work the same way for us all.

Yes the fit me foundation has such a sheer coverage and it isn’t mattifying on my skin (weird) :/

woah! It’s rare to see someone who doesn’t like the Fit Me foundation. I actually haven’t seen that version of packaging before….did you get the matte + poreless or the dewy + smooth version of this foundation? it might work better if you get the version that fits your skin type. if you did, then I’m sorry it didn’t work – I love this foundation >_<

Is the foundation different in the U.K. To the USA!? I feel like it could be xxx

      • September 8, 2017 / 9:54 pm

Maybe…theres two versions here in the US, one for oily skin and the second for dry skin types

        • September 8, 2017 / 9:55 pm

I think we can only get the Matte one here! Not 100% certain though! I’m glad it works for you though – I wish it did for me too since it’s so affordable!! Xxx

I remember ring let down by the Simple face wash a while back. It just made my face feel incredibly stiff. After being a huge fan of the Mint Fresh flavour of Maybelline Baby Lips, I’m glad you mentioned your regrets of buying Pink Punch, now I know to stick with the flavour that I have come to love and not try and of the coloured ones.

    • September 9, 2017 / 6:10 pm

Yes I agree about the stiff feeling, it’s very weird! And I haven’t tried the mint fresh version, maybe I will in the future – I think I’ll be chucking the pink punch out! Xx

That lipbalm has the craziest neon pink tint!

    • September 9, 2017 / 6:10 pm

      Doesn’t it! It’s more like a lipstick haha x

I love these kinds of posts. I’ve actually made this post myself a couple of months ago. It’s always nice to hear people’s favorites, but products they regret buying is maybe even more helpful. I’l; definitely look twice before buying any of the make-upproducts people discourage me to buy! Oh and one thing, I hate babylips too! xo

    • September 10, 2017 / 6:59 pm

Yes I totally agree they are helpful! I love reading them too. & im so glad you agree about the baby lips!!! Xxx
