Maybelline ‘The Nudes’ palette, review & swatches

Hiya everyone,
I was going through my eye shadow palette collection recently and stumbled across The Nudes palette by Maybelline. This palette was my ride or die when I’d just started experimenting with eye shadows a few years back and I’d totally forgotten about it. I decided I’d use it these past weeks to see if I still loved it and I tthought I’d review it here too since I don’t have many drugstore palette reviews here on my blog.

Overview
The packaging is very sturdy and simple. The black plastic makes the palette look very sleek for a drugstore palette. You get 9.6g of product spread across 12 different shades. There’s a mixture of mattes and shimmers and some in-between sheen shades too. It also comes with one of those sponge applicators, I usually throw these away, but the thinner side of the sponge is great from smudging out black shadow in a wing if you want to skip the eyeliner. This costs £11.99 which isn’t bad at all as long as the shadows are good! You can purchase the palette here

Review
As you can see from the swatches, this palette is pretty pigmented for a drugstore palette so it is no wonder that I used to love it. I am impressed by all the mattes, they feel very creamy and blend out pretty easily on the eye. The deeper shimmer shades (such as the bronze and gold) are super pretty and shimmery and look gorgeous all over the lid. The paler shimmer shades are not as good and come off a bit too glittery for me (you can barely seen them on the swatches due to my skin tone) but they still look nice on the inner corner.
All in all I think this is a great palette if you’re looking for these types of colours at an affordable price.

I hope you found this review helpful! Let me know your thoughts on this palette in the comments below, have you tried it? Would you be tempted too? Have a lovely day!

Jazmin xx

I was never really into this palette. I swatched it in drugstore and wasn’t impressed at all. Maybe I should give it another chance as you like it so much. xx
