Declutter – Things I’m throwing away!

Hi everyone,

So after the masses of products I got over Christmas and my birthday, I decided it was definitely time to throw some things out that I don’t use anymore. I don’t have loads of space to store things at the moment because I am living in student accommodation, so I definitely needed to make more room. I thought I’d do a little declutter post, since I really enjoy declutter videos on YouTube.

SKIN CARE

Declutter simple

Simple Moisturising Facial Wash
I just didn’t get on with this product. I don’t think products from the brand Simple really agree with my skin. This just doesn’t clean my face well at all! I never use it so I thought I may as well throw it out. I have loads of other face washes that I much prefer.

Simple Refreshing Facial Wash
The same goes for this facial wash too. This one has a gel consistency so I thought I might prefer it. However, every time I have used this it has left residue on my face and just doesn’t wash off! Once my face is dry, if I rub it slightly, I get the product flaking off into my hands. I don’t need it.

Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser
I like this moisturiser because it does feel really light on the skin, so if you’re looking for something that is non greasy and not too thick then this one might be for you. However, I prefer something that gives me a bit more moisture than this does.

declutter face care

Superdrug Gentle Foaming Facial Wash (for dry skin)
Honestly, this is such a great affordable product! I stopped using this as I could never find it in my local Superdrug, they had it online but that was too much effort for me haha. So I switched to something else. I would use this up, but I have had it quite a while so I think it’s best to throw it out.

Superdrug Gentle Creamy Cleanser (for dry skin)
Again, another great face cleanser! This one is particularly good if you have really dry skin. As with the foaming face wash, I’m only throwing it because I’ve had it for so long.

Garnier Moisture + Nourish Moisturiser (dry to very dry skin)
This is almost empty! I absolutely love this product, however I believe it has been discontinued. I have now got a different 3 in 1 rose moisturiser by Garnier which smells and feels very similar to this. I like it for when I am feeling incredibly dry. I have had this God knows how long so it’s time to throw it out.

Ted Baker Body Scrub
Does this class as skin care? Not really, it’s body care but I didn’t want too have a whole section just for this. This scrub is so awful! I have tried it a couple times in the hopes I was somehow doing something wrong, but nope. This leaves such a thick greasy film all over me whenever I use it. And it doesn’t even do the best job at scrubbing either.. I’d recommend The Body Shop scrubs over this any day.

MAKEUP

declutter limited collection

Limited Collection Nail Polish’s
I got these in a set a while a go and although they are decent and are pretty colours, I just have a big selection of nail polishes that I prefer and that last longer on the nails. I don’t wear nail polish very often anyway (because I am lazy and I can’t get KL Polish in the UK), so I am throwing these out.

Limited Collection Glitter Liner
I really liked the idea of this glitter liner but it just didn’t work out for me. The glitter is too sparse to use it as a liner. I guess I could apply it all over the lid, but I have loose glitter for that or shimmer eye-shadows which are all together easier.

Limited Collected Black Kohl Liner Pencil
This eyeliner is okay I suppose, but you have to press fairly hard with it to get a good black colour. I have other liners which are much better, for example the black kohl pencil from Bourjois is great! I don’t use black pencil liner enough to keep it.

Declutter makeup

Rimmel Hide The Blemish Stick Concealer
I can’t believe how long I have had this thing!! I always keep it thinking, ‘you never know when I might need a stick concealer’, but I never ever reach for it. It’s got great coverage but it is just abit too heavy for me, and is even a little oily somehow..

Maybelline Expert Lip Liner
I’m not sure what colour this is, it’s basically a nude though. I do like this liner, but I never really use it. I also mainly wear pale pink lipsticks and when I use nude I don’t use a lip liner. I have had this a long time too, so it can go.

Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick in Stellar Pink
I just don’t wear this. I don’t know why I bought it, the colour doesn’t suit me and I don’t like the finish. It feels very creamy and had an almost shimmer in the finish. I just don’t like it on myself.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch
I bought myself this not too long ago because a lot of people seem to love these. However, I don’t find this moistursing at all and the bright pink colour I chose looks hideous on me. If you want a lip balm from the drugstore, I’d say Nivea for sure!

Technic MegaBlush
If you’re just starting out makeup and want a selection of blushes, I would definitely suggest going for this one. I like the colours a lot, but you need to apply quite a bit to get a good colour pay off. It also fades quicker than the other blushes in my collection. This is by no means a bad affordable option though.

That’s it! I am quite proud of myself for getting rid of these things because I rarely throw things away, I get too attached to them.. I know it’s not a lot but at least I have made a little bit of room for other things!
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed this post. Feel free to leave any comments below!!

Jazmin xx

This is an excellent reminder for me to go through old makeup and chuck them out – especially mascaras since they can be a bacteria warehouse after a while.

Love the post also I’ve just posted a review on a Huda Beauty eyeshadow palette if you’d be interested. It’s a palette I’ll never be throwing out!!

I also got baby lips lip balm from Maybelline recently because they are really hyped. Still didn’t try mine tho, but we’ll see. Mine is however in intense care so maybe it will be moisturizing. xx

I hope you like yours. The intense care may be much better than mine xx

I’ve been decluttering these last few days, too. It feels good to get rid of the things that aren’t being used!

Yes it does feel good to make a little extra room! I’m sure there are other products I could throw too, but I just can’t make myself haha x

I decluttered some of my stuff around 2 weeks ago, and ‘m so happy I did. I definitely need to do it more often, as there are so many products that are just laying around without me knowing.

It is a good feeling to throw things anyway! You feel sort of cleansed afterwards haha x

Isn’t it crazy how much clutter and stuff we actually accumulate? I need to deciliter desperately- thanks for the inspiration!

It is isn’t it! I think there was so much more I could have thrown away but I find it so hard haha. I hope you manage to declutter some of your things! X

I’ve decluttered a TON of stuff in the last few days and it feels so good to do so! I did a declutter a few months ago so I was surprised how much I still managed to get rid of this time around!

Oh I also think KL polish is now available in the UK

    • January 8, 2018 / 8:33 am

Is it!? I wonder if you still have to pay a lot of customs though x

      • January 8, 2018 / 10:08 am

I think the customs depends on how much you spend, I’m not too sure though x

I agree about the baby lips lip balm! It made my lips very dry and didn’t look good on my skin tone! Very nice post!

    • January 8, 2018 / 8:33 am

I’m glad someone agrees! Everyone else seems to love it haha x

The clear ones aren’t that bad. otherwise, avoid the color-tinted ones. I don’t find them super hydrating either and prefer Blistex chapstick over Babylips lol

Hi Jazmin! I agree – the pink baby-lips is really bright! I actually went back and bought the blue one which is colorless. Luckily I only paid $1.25 for my baby lip glosses thanks to a wonderful dollar tree find I read about on another blog. Otherwise I would have never bought this brand (it’s $6 each here in Canada). The clear one (blue exterior) is worth trying and I find it much better than the pink one. I don’t wear lipstick so the pink one was not for me either. I will probably throw it out but I’m having a hard time throwing it away.

Ah, perhaps I will try the Blue one then! Thanks for letting me know 🙂 I know what you mean, sometimes it’s hard to throw things out!
