Hey guys,
It’s been a littlleeee while since I wrote a makeup look post up for you guys, so today I really wanted to share this pretty mermaid vibes look. These are some of my favourite posts to make, because although I am no makeup artist, I love creating new looks and trying them out on myself.
I recently reviewed the NYX ‘in your element’ wind palette, which you can see here and a lot of people enjoyed the post, so I thought it may be useful to create a makeup look using the palette so I can show you all how it looks in action!
Step one – Base: I first applied the NYX Honey Dew Me Up primer (£15) (which I have been loving lately) all over my face. I then used a mixture of Dior Forever Foundation (£35) and L’oreal True Match foundation (£9.99). I blended out my foundation using the Real Techniques buffer brush.
Step two – Eyes: I filled in my eyebrows using the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade (£15), with a Morphe s25 brush. I set them with the Rimmel Brow This Way gel (£4.99). I applied the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer (£4.19) all over my eyelid using a Morphe s4 brush. I set this with a w7 cream coloured eyeshadow. I then went into the NYX Wind palette (£25). I applied shade number 2 in my crease with a Morphe s27 brush. I then took shade number 1 on Morphe s21 brush and applied it on the inner half of my eyelid. Then, using my finger I added a little bit of shade number 4 on the center of my eyelid. I then used shade number 12 on a Morphe s12 brush on the outer half of my eyelid, bringing it out into a wing type shape. Once this was done I blended everything out and added more of shade number 2 in the crease and shade number 1 on the inner half of my eye to intensify the colour. I also used a little of shade number 7 on my inner corner and brow bone with a pencil brush. Once I was happy with this, I used the Soap & Glory Supercat eyeliner (£6.50). I used Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara (£8.99) on curled eyelashes, then I applied some Myleah Lashes.
Step three – Finishing: I used the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer (£4.19) under my eyes and on any blemishes on a Morphe s4 brush. I then set my face using the Rimmel Stay Matte powder (£3.99) using a Morphe s15 brush. On a Morphe s13 brush I used the contour colour from the Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette (£6.99), to contour and bronze up. I then applied the Rimmel Lasting Finish blush (£3.99) in the shade Santa Rose, I used a Real Techniques contour brush for this. Then, using a Morphe s26 brush I highlighted my cheek bones, my nose and cupids bow with the blue/purple highlight from the Makeup Revolution Sophdoesnails highlight palette (£8). Finally I used a Primark Matte Liquid Lipstick. I think the shade is called Cookies & Cream, but I’m not 100% sure.
That’s it! I hope you have enjoyed this post. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Hi, thanks so much! X
That blue looks lovely on you! I’ve tried so many times to rock a blue eyeshadow but my blending skills are a bit a miss and I end up looking like I have weird black eyes! May have to try your method.

Thank you! & haha, we have all been there! Hope my method works for you if you do try it x
That palette looks so nice! I love the colours you’ve used in this look – so pretty! I wish I could blend eyeshadow like that! I usually just go for an easy look with a cream blending into a brown/gold shade so it’s not too difficult haha.

The blue colours in there are gorgeous! Thank you! I have only recently started to venture out of the brown shades too haha xx
I’ve been a little dubious about trying the NYX, as no one I know has tried it but maybe I will give it a go as it looks stunning and blends really well. Does it stay on for a long time and do you need a lot for the vibrant colour?

NYX make great shadows from my experience! I love the blue shades in this palette and I found they lasted very well on my eyes, I didn’t need to put LOADS on either for the pigmented look.
This palette is £25 which I think is a little steep for the colour selection. The pale shimmer shades of this palette aren’t the best so bear that in mind xxx
This look is stunning! Amazing that it’s using such an affordable palette too. Don’t think I’d ever be bold enough to wear it though x
