Makeup Revolution x Sophdoesnails Eyeshadow Palette review & swatches

Hi everyone!

Since my last post (here) I have had quite a few questions about this Makeup Revolution x Sophdoesnails eyeshadow palette which featured in that post. I thought it would be a good idea to post a full review on the palette! This product has had quite a lot of hype since it was released not too long back, but the question is, is it worth all the hype!?

Overview
For £10 you get 24 different eyeshadows, which is incredible as it’s so affordable for such a good variety of shades. There is a mix of matte shades and shimmer shades in the palette.
The packaging is super cute. The palette comes in a pale pink box with rose gold detail on it. I like to keep my palettes in their original packaging where I can, so I like that this comes in a box. The palette itself is made of sturdy plastic and is also pale pink (much like the highlighter palette, which you can see a review of here.) Although the packaging looks stunning, the matte pink palette can get stains on it quite easily from eye shadow finger prints.. It can be cleaned away with a wet wipe but surprisingly some of the stains can be a little hard to remove. However, this is really not a major issue, I just thought I would mention it!
Inside the palette there is a full mirror and a plastic sheet with all the shade names on.

Review
I have been really impressed with these eyeshadows. I didn’t know what to expect when I purchased this palette as these are the first eyeshadows I’ve tried from the brand. However, they are all pigmented. I haven’t felt let down by the pigmentation in any of the shades, which is rare for a drugstore palette.
The matte shadows are super smooth and not chalky at all. The blend out easily, even the bright shades such as ‘Strawberry Sweets’ and ‘Pumpkin’.
The shimmer shades swatch a little chunky and they are quite glittery. However, on the eye they work really well. I apply them with my finger.
There is a little fall out when using these shadows, but not much at all! They last hours on my eyes and don’t fade very much. I have wore them ALL day and you could still easily see them at the end of the day.
All in all I have been super impressed with this palette, I would even say that this has become my absolute favourite drugstore palette and it’s now a staple in my collection that I reach for very often. If you don’t already have this, then I would recommend it 100%.

  1. This was my favourite palette of last year; I love so many of the makeup revolution palettes, stand out ones for me are the Flawless 4, Mint chocolate bar and the Rose gold chocolate bar. All of these are amazing and so cheap
