Zoeva Contour Spectrum Palette Review & Swatches!

I hope you are all doing well and made the most of the beautiful weather we had recently… because it’s now chucking it down, and is meant to be doing so for the foreseeable!

Today I am going to review the Zoeva Contour Spectrum palette. I ordered this palette around a month ago when I was looking for new contour shades. I decided upon this one after reading/watching a few reviews. At £15 I thought this palette looked like a good one for me. Since purchasing it, I have been playing around with it a lot, and I feel like now is a good time to review it here on my blog.

Overview
For £15 you get 4 pans each with 0.12 ounces of product. You receive a highlighter, a banana powder, a cool contour shade and a warmer contour shade.

Beauty Bay says the palette is ‘Compiled with everything you need to add perfected definition to the face, the Contour Spectrum Palette is a must-have when creating a camera ready complexion. The four finely-milled, highly pigmented shades blend seamlessly into the base delivering a chiselled, balanced finish you will love.’

Review
The Highlighter: In the pan, the highlighter looks almost white, and you imagine that the highlighter will appear quite pearly on the skin. Even when swatched, it looks pale and white. However, when you apply this onto the face it actually has quite a yellow gold tone to it. It is a little too dark for my skin tone unfortunately, standing out as a line of gold on my cheek bone. It is a powerful highlighter with a lot of pigment! It isn’t a natural finish, and I would say it is a little on the shimmery side. For me, it emphasises texture too much. I would only recommend this highlighter if you like something super pigmented, are a little darker than me, and don’t have too much texture.
The Banana Setting Powder: As you can see from the swatch, this powder is extremely yellow on me! I can’t use this all over my face at all. I have been using it on my eyelid to set the concealer I use as an eyeshadow primer. I am glad I have found some sort of use for it, but I do feel like this banana powder is going to be a waste for very fair skin people like me. It is finely milled and going on smoothly though, so if you are darker than me you may like this.
The Cool Contour: I have been using this contour shade to add definition under my cheek bones. I like the shade of it as it is cool, but definitely isn’t too ashy – which is generally the shades I like best. This powder does have quite a bit of fall out because it is so soft, but this isn’t something that bothers me personally. I would say this is a blendable powder, but I have had powders which are a bit easier that this one. I would suggest adding a little at a time!
The Warm Contour: I use this contour around my forehead and to generally bronze up my face more! I find this power a little easier to work with which is great. I think this is my favourite pan in the palette. The tone is perfect for a bronzed up look on my skin tone. Again, it has fallout, but I don’t mind.

Verdict
Overall I think this is just a decent contour palette. However, I only really like 2 out of 4 pans (the two contour shades) so I think other contour palettes would have been better for me personally.
Since I am only using half the palette, I don’t think it is worth £15. I don’t think the palette is something to rave about, but it is okay. I probably wouldn’t recommend buying this palette, specially if you have a pale skin tone!
