Full Face Of Makeup I Never Reach For!

Hi everyone,

Lately I’ve been running out of makeup storage.. I have so much stuff and some of it I rarely reach for. I decided I wanted to use a full face of makeup I never reach for, to see if any of it can be thrown away.
Now honestly, I struggle throwing things away unless they truly are unusable (did someone say product hoarder?!). But still, I thought it was worth a go, and I thought this could make for a good blog post if I share my thoughts on the products too.
If you want to see what makeup products have been going unnoticed in my stash, just keep reading.

WHAT I USED & MY THOUGHTS

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation (matte + poreless)
I never really liked this foundation, I felt it always left my skin looking a little dull. The staying power never impressed me, and the shade is slightly too dark for my skin tone. Despite this, I did wear it a fair few times in the past on days when I wasn’t really do anything, but wanted to wear a bit of makeup. When I applied this yesterday, it went on nicely and I was quite shocked! It didn’t seem as dull as normal, but the staying power still wasn’t great and by the end of the day I was definitely looking patchy and my face looked almost dirty. I don’t have loads of this foundation left, so I will probably try to use the rest up before I bin it.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
I do use this product a little on no makeup makeup days, but lately the Bourjois Radiance Reveal has taken it’s place. I’ve only wore this over foundation a couple of times. When I applied it yesterday it brightened my face up nicely and kept my under eye’s looking hydrated. However, it doesn’t have enough coverage for my liking, so I find it pairs weirdly with a full face of makeup.

Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette
I forgot how much I loved this brow palette! I used to use this every single day until I purchased the ABH Pomade. This kit has a wax and a powder. I applied the wax then added powder on the top. I think I will start reaching for this more often as it provides a more natural look than my pomade – this will be good to take on holiday with me and use in the day time.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
EVERYONE used to love this palette, and I’m sure a lot of people still reach for this palette really often. I still like this palette, but I cannot remember the last time I used it, so I decided this should be part of my ‘full face of makeup I never reach for’. The colour selection still appeals to me, but honestly the formula isn’t as impressive as I remember? The fall out is irritating and the colour pay off could be better. I still like it and by no means is it bad, but I wouldn’t consider this one of my all time favourites anymore. I don’t think I could bin this palette, I remember saving up for it and being so happy when it arrived!

ASDA George Liquid Eyeliner
Considering how cheap this eyeliner is, it’s pretty impressive! It’s black, matte and doesn’t smudge or crumble. I found applying a winged liner harder than usual with this one, probably because I am not used to the nib, but I did manage to get it looking somewhat okay. Honestly, if you want something super cheap, definitely give this a go.

L’oreal Miss Manga Mascara
I completely forgot about this mascara, so when I was raiding my makeup finding things for this post, I immediately wanted to include this. I couldn’t really remember my thoughts on it. It’s actually very good – it gives quite a lot of volume and made my eyelashes look quite fluttery. It didn’t transfer, which impressed me! I’ll definitely be keeping this and using the tube up – however, I have binned a Maybelline Great Lash mascara after rooting through my stash because only God knows how long I’ve had it.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Nude Kohl Liner
I saw this lying about and thought I’d throw it into the look. I haven’t reached for this in ages and now I remember why. Although it looks pretty, it only lasts for about 1 hour and then it’s just completely gone. It’s nice for pictures, but other than that it’s pointless.

NYX Back To School Palette Contour/Bronze
I went through a phase of using this palette loads! I created quite a lot of looks using the eyeshadows from it which you can find on my blog, and I still use the shadows from time to time. I can’t remember the last time I used the contour and bronze shades from the palette. I actually really enjoyed using these powders again. They blended really well and the shades seemed to suit my face. I’ll have to try to remember to use these more often again.

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush – Lovely Pink
I think the last time I used this blush I used it as an eyeshadow. I have quite a few other blushers that I choose before this one for a daily basis. However, I do like it this. It adds a nice amount of colour to the cheeks, but it’s not too overpowering. The shade is just a little too pink for my every day preference as I usually go for peachy colours. However, I suppose it’s nice to have options to use from time to time, and I can’t deny that it looked nice yesterday.

I Heart Makeup Baked Highlighter – Goddess of Love
I’m so on the fence with this product. I use it every once in a while, but it’s just not my favourite for some reason. I like the colour, on the face it has a pale pink tone to it and the glow is really pretty too! I think it’s the texture of the powder that isn’t my favourite. If you apply too much, it can emphasise texture of the skin and it doesn’t blend easily at all. It seems to stick firmly to the exact place applied. I think the packaging is so pretty, but it’s bulky and takes up a lot of space. I am tempted to throw this out, but I’m just not sure yet.

L’oreal Color Riche Lipstick – 646 Eva
I think since purchasing this, I have wore it only once. I like the shade – a pinky nude! It’s beautiful, and I think it does suit my skin tone. I’m not a fan of the finish though, it’s creamy but almost too glossy looking for me. It doesn’t last very long on the lips. I have a couple other L’oreal Color Riche lipsticks which last much better on me. Perhaps it is because this is a paler shade? I think it may be time to say goodbye to this lipstick…

That’s all the products I used. What do you think? Did I mention any of your favourites? Or are any of these products things you seem to avoid too for some reason! Let me know in the comments!

I used to swear by the MR eyeshadow palette back in the day, but the fall out really got to me so ended up selling it as I have to do my foundation before my eyes. Love the look you created though, really need to sort through my collection of makeup one day!

I started to feel the same way about my makeup collection. Right now I’m going through it all to declutter. I’m on foundations right now and decided to wear all my foundations to see which ones I truly love and one of them is the Fit Me Matte & Poreless. After wearing it again, I have definitely fallen back in love with it. It wears well on me so I’m keeping it. Too bad you didn’t like it that much 🙁
