Hey everyone!
Today I wanted to post another ‘sample Wednesday’ post! I like doing these posts as it allows me to give my initial opinions on the products that I’ve got in my little ‘samples’ bag. I guess I get to share my sample experiences with you, so we can both decide if the full size product is something we’d be interested in spending money on.
Today I am going to talk about the sk:n Facial Exfoliating Cleanser, from the cleanse & exfoliate range. I won a giveaway on Twitter a while back, and a few sk:n samples were in the bundle!
Overview & Claims
The full size of the cleanser will set you back £28, and you will get 200ml of product. If this product performs, then I think the price is decent! You can definitely buy more affordable skin care, but there is also stuff out there which is much more pricey. I’d say this is a mid range price.
Each sample sachet has 3ml of product.
The cleanser is for all skin types, and includes both glycolic acid and glycerin. These ingredients are meant to help remove dead skin cells (glycolic acid) and then moisturise the skin (glycerin). sk:n also state that due to the glycolic acid, there may be a tingling sensation to the skin when using the product.
sk:n call this product a gentle creamy cleanser that exfoliates and smoothes. They claim that this product will give a fresher, brighter look to the skin by removing dead skin cells. It will refine thicker skin, soften lines and wrinkles, lighten dark marks and leave skin in a perfect condition to maximise effects of follow-on products.
Review
Each sachet allowed me 2 uses, so I have used this 4 times – enough to give you my initial opinions!
The smell of this is super refreshing, it’s the first thing I noticed when opening the sachet. The texture is pretty much the same as any moisturiser. I was kind of expecting scrubby bits in there, since the name says ‘exfoliating’, but I guess that’s due to the glycolic acid.
I massaged this into my skin, then rinsed with water. Once done, my skin felt so soft, smooth and moisturised! You know sometimes cleansers make your skin feel really tight and dry, and you need to IMMEDIATELY lather yourself in moisturiser? Well this one is not like that! Probably due to the creamy texture and glycerin.
I also felt really clean. So for me it seemed to be the best of both worlds in the sense my skin wasn’t really tight after use, but still felt clean.
One thing I noticed was that my skin almost felt rubbery after use.. In a way it was nice because it made me feel supple, but in another way it just felt like residue from the product left on my face which I couldn’t remove.
I feel like my skin is looking healthier and a tad brighter – with extended use I do think this would be a really amazing cleanser.
All in all though, the few times I used this I loved the feeling on my skin! Once I have used up the half bottles of cleansers in my collection, this one will definitely be on my radar.
I hope you found this mini review helpful. Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

Thank you, this review was so helpful for me. I’m a sucker for a good cleanser!
I’ll keep an eye out for this one now (maybe wait for it to go one sale), and I’m pretty excited by this product.
