Rimmel Scandaleyes Wow Wings Mascara Review

First of all, sorry for my week long absence, I’ve had a pretty busy time lately. On Monday my boyfriend graduated from University, so we traveled to Liverpool for a few days – and we will be going back there tomorrow too, as I graduate on Friday.  But I wanted to fit in a post in between the trips of course, so today I am reviewing the new mascara by Rimmel, the Scandaleyes Wow Wings!
I was gifted this a little bit ago in my Influenster voxbox, but these opinions are my own as always!

Overview & Claims
This mascara costs £6.99, which is around average for a drugstore mascara, and if a mascara is good, I 100% would say this is a good price.
The packaging is pretty basic, plastic, lightweight, purple.. The brush is curved and looks really similar to the Maybelline Lash Sensational. The bristles are plastic.

Rimmel claim that this mascara will give you up to 11 times more volume thanks to the unique 2 sided brush. Load up with the winged side, then flare out with the curved side. The formula has innovative polymer complex to build up volume quickly.
Rimmel say that the benefits include… ‘long lasting, smudge proof, flake proof, easy to remove.’

So they are quite the claims… we will see if the product lives up to them!

Review
When I began to apply this mascara, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. The bristles almost hurt my eyes. I don’t know if that makes sense to any of you, but they felt really sharp and I had to be careful when getting to the root of my lashes. However, that is were the negatives end!
The formula is pretty thick, kind of like when you are getting to the end of a mascara and they somehow look nicer. I like this as I got instant volume. The brush is good as it flares out the lashes nicely.
The effect truly is similar to the Maybelline Lash Sensational. My lashes look longer and definitely have more volume when using this.
As Rimmel suggest, this mascara doesn’t smudge or flake! I have a problem with mascaras transferring and smudging onto my under brow area, this doesn’t happen with this mascara.
I am so pleased with the results of this mascara, for me it is 100% better than other Rimmel mascara’s that I have used in the past.
If you want a drugstore mascara which will give you volume & a curl, give this one a go!
