Anatomicals ‘farewell the scarlet pimplehell’ Deep cleansing mud mask | Review

Hey guys!

Quite recently I was browsing the skin care section of Urban Outfitters and I saw that they had a selection of the Anatomicals face masks in stock! I was super happy as I haven’t seen these in store before and they were only £1.50 each?!  As someone who has just graduated from university and is now currently desperately seeking employment, I’m too poor to pass up a great bargain like this when I see one!

The three masks I picked up are the deep cleaning mud mask, the tropical hydrating mask, and the anti-stress face mask. If you’d be interested in a review on the other two masks, please let me know in the comments!

Overview & Claims
In the sachet I got 15ml of product, which was just enough for 3 uses for me. I don’t know how many uses you are meant to get from the sachet, but 3 uses for £1.50 seems okay!

The mask is ‘ideal for a weekly treat.’ ‘This deep action mask works to boost circulation and deeply cleanse pores, purifying your complexion.’
‘Skin is lifted, smooth and glowing.’
‘This product may not be a life saver, but it does clean your skin and absorb excess oil, controls acne, controls blackheads, and leaves skin very smooth.’

Let’s see how it performed!

Review
I applied this mask on clean dry skin. It’s grey in colour and it felt very cooling when applied. The consistency is quite thin for a mud mask, I expected it to be a bit thicker. However, it wasn’t runny or messy so this wasn’t a problem!
I left it on my face for around 15 minutes (the packet suggests 10-15 minutes) and the mask was almost completely dried.
I jumped in the shower to rinse this off because I always find it easier to do masks before I shower. Afterwards I looked at my skin… I was disappointed! It looked and felt no different. The other times I used this mask was no different either. I tried leaving it for longer, but still I have not seen a difference in my skin.
I would not purchase this again. If you want an affordable cleansing mask, I’d recommend the L’oreal pure clay detox mask instead of this one.
I have higher hopes for the other Anatomicals masks I picked up, specially the hydrating one. So fingers crossed they will perform better.

Have you tried this mask? Did it work better for you than me? Am I missing a trick?! Let me know!

Jazmin xx
