L’oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water Moisturiser | Review

Hi guys!

You may have noticed my absence lately, since I’ve been away in Mallorca, but I am back now and ready to write some more posts & get back into the blogging world! Today I wanted to share a review with you of the L’oreal Hydra Genius Moisturiser which I have been using for a little while now. If you’re interested to find out my thoughts, please keep reading.

Overview & Claims
This moisturiser comes in three versions. Firstly, the one I have, for normal to dry skin. Next, for normal to combination skin, and lastly for dry and sensitive skin. One bottle will cost you £9.99 and you will get 70ml. Currently there is a deal on at Superdrug, so if you want to snatch this up for £6.65, just follow this link!

This daily moisturiser promises to lock in moisture for 72 hours and give you fresh, glowing skin. Instantly it claims to penetrate deeply to give you a healthy looking glow. It will release continuous hydration and drench skin with moisture for up to 72 hours.
This is all thanks to the ingredients: of Pure Aloe Vera sap, which has amazing moisturising properties and essential minerals. Aloe helps to maintain the skin’s water reserves. & Hyaluronic acid, which is a powerful active ingredient that can hold 1000 times its weight in water.

The packaging claims this product will absorb instantly, and melt into the skin for intense comfort. The texture is lightweight, fresh, fluid, non-greasy and non-sticky.

Immediately – Skin feels fresher, softer and more supple.
Use after use – Skin in penetrated with intense and long lasting hydration, for more glowing looking skin.

So these are quite some claims! Let’s see if the product lives up to them.

Review
Initially, I was skeptical about this product as I have been stuck on the basic (yet amazing) Nivea soft cream. I can’t lie, I do like quite a creamy rich moisturiser to help my dry skin. However, after reading the claims on the packaging regarding long lasting hydration that will penetrate the skin, along with a recommendation from a friend, I thought why not give something else a try! & I am so glad I did.
The texture is very similar to a serum, it’s runny, thicker than water but thinner than a cream or lotion. All’s you need is one pump for your face.
It absorbs really fast, which is lovely, specially when you want to apply makeup quickly! The first few times I used this I didn’t think it was going to give my skin much moisture, however within a matter of days my skin really did feel more hydrated and supple. And by now, I can honestly start to see the longer lasting properties!
My skin feels more moisturised on a daily basis, and I love how fresh and light this products is.
I still like to use moisturising masks in conjunction with this, but I have seen the changes and since this product will not break the bank, I would definitely recommend this if you want some extra hydration!

  1. I think i need to give drugstore skincare more of a chance! I tend to stick to lush cleansers and dont bother with anything like this because of my really dry skin! I recently tried out soap and glory and it’s not been too bad for me but i do wish i could go into boots or superdrug and buy whatever skincare i can but this does sound really good for dry skin so it might be good for me x
