Sample Wednesday: Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean Foam Cleanser / Purifying Mask | First Impressions Review

Hi everyone!

It’s been a little while since I posted a Sample Wednesday post here on my blog! Which is stupid because I have so many sample products in my Sample drawer just waiting to be tested out. Today I’m going to post my first impressions review of the Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean Foam Cleanser / Purifying Mask. I’ve completely used up the 7ml tube of this cleanser now so it’s time to share my opinion!

Overview / Claims
A 150ml tube of this will cost you £24, which is of course more pricey than drugstore facial cleansers, however Estée Lauder is a higher end brand so therefore the price is to be expected. However, this won’t break the bank and if I loved the cleanser, I wouldn’t mind spending £24.

Estée Lauder describe this as a refreshing foam that will gently but thoroughly cleanse the skin. They say the creamy formula rapidly lathers up into a foam which gently removes makeup and impurities without drying the skin. It will unclog pores and leave skin feeling healthy, fresh and luminous.

You can use this product 2 ways. Either as a cleanser: Massage gently over wet skin, then rinse. Or as a Mask: Massage over dry skin, wait 3 minutes, then rinse.

Review
I decided to use this product as a cleanser. I preferred the idea of applying this onto wet skin rather than dry skin – plus it’s quicker!
I took a small amount of the product and massaged onto my skin as instructed. Immediately the white cream becomes a thick luxurious foam. The scent is quite strong, but is really lovely! It reminded me a little of a swimming baths, which I like but it is something to bare in mind.
As I was using this cleanser I did notice a tight feeling in my face, almost like when you use standard soap (not advisable) which I wasn’t a fan of at all. However, I do have quite dry skin, particularly at the moment.
Once I rinse it all off my skin, I get a squeaky clean sensation. I would say that I found the cleanser quite drying. Perhaps if you have normal/oily skin you would find this great as it does feel like it deeply cleans. However, for me personally it is just a little too drying and stripping. I need to apply a thick moisturiser straight after use to get rid of that tight feeling. Whereas in the AM at least, I prefer a lighter cream.

I will not be purchasing the full size of this product unfortunately as, like I just mentioned, it is just that bit too drying for me. If you don’t suffer with dry skin, then you may like this!

Have you tried this product? Let me know in the comments below!

I am not a fond of the drying feeling that you get post cleansing. Hence this shall be a skip.

I have to agree with bhumika. That tight dry feeling? Pass.
