How are you? I started a new job this week so I’ve been pretty busy – but I’m finally finding the time to sit down and write.. Yay! My last post was a makeup look using this Colourpop Zodiac palette (you can see that here if you missed it). & so many people loved the look of this palette so I thought I’d write a whole post review, including swatches! This is particularly relevant at the moment as Kathleen Lights has just announced her new release with Colourpop, which is an extension to the Zodiac collection in the form of pigments! I’m hoping to get my hands on a few of those too. But for now, lets get into the review of this Zodiac palette.
Overview & Claims
In the palette you get 12 eyeshadows (1g each) – each one representing a zodiac sign. There are a mixture of mattes and metallic shades in there.
Colourpop state that these pressed shadows are highly pigmented, apply even and feel ultra velvety. This is a long wearing formula which adheres to eyes easily giving a soft focus effect. Blends smoothly and evenly.
This palette is listed on the Colourpop website for $18 (which is £13.74). This is really affordable for a great palette.
So you probably already know that I love this palette if you read my last post. You can see for yourself from the swatches that the shades are very pigmented – I’m particularly impressed with the matte purple ‘The Sagittarius’ as purples are usually harder to formulate. However this one is super pigmented and goes on smoothly. The shadows are very easy to work with, the only one which I found needed to be applied more carefully is ‘The Aquarius’ as it can go patchy a little easier than the rest. The fallout is very minimal with this palette, the worst offender being ‘The Pisces’.
The shadows last really well on my eyes which I was impressed by. At the end of the day the colours still look vibrant.
I would completely agree with the claims on the Colourpop website! I absolutely love this palette and have been having a lot of fun playing around with it.
All in all I think this palette is absolutely amazing and the shades are stunning! I would definitely recommend picking this palette up if you get the chance – specially if you are in America where is is SUPER easy to get!
I hope you enjoyed this post, please leave any comments below!
