Empties #9

Hi everyone!

Time for another empties post! I haven’t done one yet in 2019, so there are quite a few things here. I’ve decided that from now on I’m not going to include things that I’ve already spoken about lots of times in Empties, so you won’t be seeing any more of my all time favourite Johnsons Makeup Be Gone wipes, multiple packs of cotton pads, Nivea Micellar Water & Garnier toner. Lets get into it!

Empties 9 wipes

Tesco Cotton Buds
I’ve had this box of cotton buds for ages now. I use them for touching up makeup & nail polish etc. These ones were good, but at the end of the day they’re just cotton buds! They didn’t fall to bits when saturated with micellar water so I can’t complain.
Repurchase? Probably at some point

Cleanic Makeup Wipes
I picked these up in Poland when I ran out of wipes whilst there. It’s taken me ages to get through the pack as since coming home I’ve only used them to take off swatches. They’re pretty dry and scratchy and nothing something I’d recommend unless in an emergency like when I was away in Poland.
Repurchase? No.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Gentle Makeup Wipes
I picked these up on offer when I fancied giving something other than the Johnsons makeup wipes a try. I wasn’t very impressed and I’ve also mostly used these for swatches or when I’ve only been wearing very minimal makeup. These are pretty drying. From now on when it comes to makeup wipes, I think I’ll only be using the Johnsons ones.
Repurchase? No.

Sure Dry Deodorant
Again, just a standard product. This did the job well. Although, I still really want to pick up more of an organic deodorant I just haven’t got round to it yet!
Repurchase? Maybe at some point.

Victoria’s Secret Sheer Love Body Mist
I can’t tell you how long I’ve had this.. It’s actually quite embarrassing. I mean, they don’t even do them in this packaging anymore. But I love the scent of it so much that I kept a little bit in the bottle for so long and was so scared to use it up. Finally I did though!
Repurchase? Yes.

Empties 9 scrub

Zoella Snow Fresh Body Wash
I used this over the Christmas period, admittedly a year too late since this was the Zoella Christmas launch in 2017. But I really enjoyed it. The scent was super light and fresh, and the gel was thick which made it feel really luxurious.
Repurchase? If I could.

Zoella Cream Scrub
I really loved this scrub! It’s probably one of my favourite ones, coming close to The Body Shop scrubs. It’s pretty affordable considering how long it lasts. It scrubbed my skin really well without drying it out, as when you rub it in it becomes creamy. It also smells lovely – the Jelly & Gelato range is one of my faves from Zoella.
Repurchase? Yes.

Soap & Glory Heel Genius
I don’t particularly use foot cream all that often, but it’s nice to have some if you’ve been doing a lot of walking. This small tube has lasted me ages and it’s pretty good. But I don’t have any other foot creams to compare it too..
Repurchase? Maybe.

Champneys Enlivening Citrus Scrub
I love Champneys as a brand, it’s always really luxurious feeling. This scrub was no different. It was perfect when I wanted something a bit less harsh than other scrubs, it was super creamy and felt almost like a moisturiser with small exfoliating bits in it which seemed to dissolve.
Repurchase? At some point.

empties 9 batiste

Batiste Dry Shampoo
I know some people are religious with their dry shampoo usage, but I’m not so much. I do like having some in for emergency’s, but it usually takes me quite a while to get through a bottle. Although it does help the hair look better, it feels so awful that I can barely stand it. But it definitely does come in handy.
Repurchase? Yes I’ll make sure I have some in.

Zoella Lazy Days Candle
I love candles, specially in the Winter time and I’ve finished this one up. It was nice, but the scent was very light and you could barely smell it. However, the scent it really lovely when you get to smell it. The burning time was pretty good too and it has lasted me quite a while.
Repurchase? Maybe.

The Body Shop Mango Lip Butter
If I’m completely honest The Body Shop lip butters aren’t my absolute favourites. They don’t tend to add as much moisture as other lip balms I have. However, I kept this beside my bed among other lip balms, and the mango scent was really nice which meant I did gravitate towards this enough to use it up.
Repurchase? Probably not.

Simple Rich Moisture Sheet Mask
I’ve never been a big ‘Simple’ fan after using the face wash and getting a bit of a reaction from it. I was nervous to use this but I decided to give it a go anyway since I got it in my Amazon advent calendar. I actually ended up liking it. It left my skin feeling super fresh and dewy.
Repurchase? Yes.

LA Girl Pro Coverage Foundation
I haven’t used up the entire bottle of this, but I’ve had it so long that it started to separate – it definitely needed throwing out. When I first got this foundation I really liked it, however my opinion sort of changed. It goes oily quite fast so it only looks good if you’re going to be wearing it for just a couple hours. This shade was a bit too dark for me anyway so I usually mixed it with a paler foundation.
Repurchase? No.

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream
For a CC cream this provides quite a lot of coverage! I picked this up to take on holiday for the day times. It was great for that as its not too heavy for the sun. It gives the skin a lovely healthy glow without looking TOO dewy. If you want something light for the summer I would recommend giving this a go.
Repurchase? Maybe in the summer.

Maybelline Mascara x2
I couldn’t even tell you how long these mascaras have been in the makeup bag. I completely forgot about them until stumbling across them whilst organising my makeup, and obviously I’m throwing them both right away as they’ll have expired a long time ago. I can’t remember too much about this mascara, other than the fact that it was pretty natural looking. It hasn’t made an impression either way.
Repurchase? No.

Primark Nudes Lip Pencil
This came in a lip kit along with a liquid lipstick. I didn’t like this very much as the pencil was quite firm and scratchy. I used it up as it only had a small nib and no other product within (thankfully it was cheap), but I won’t be getting it again.
Repurchase? No.

John Freda Brilliant Brunette Visibly Deeper Shampoo & Conditioner
I haven’t used up the entire tubes of these as I’ve actually changed my hair colour again.. It’s more golden blonde at the ends now, so I don’t think I using a ‘visibly deeper’ line is what I need. However, before I died my hair I was enjoying using this. The quality of John Freda hair care is always impressive and my hair was left feeling really silky. I didn’t use this long enough to say if it had an impact on the colour of my hair.
Repurchase? Not this exact one.

Pai Purifying Cleanser Mini
I did really like this cleanser, it was super creamy and gentle on the skin. However, I tend to go for gel cleansers so I won’t be purchasing the full size of this. If you have sensitive skin, you could really like this.
Repurchase? No.

Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean Foam Cleanser Mini
I only recently used this up, and you may have seen my Sample Wednesday post all about this. But if you haven’t read that post then I have to say I wasn’t the biggest fan of this. It left my skin feeling too squeaky clean and tight. As someone with skin that tends to be dry, that is just not what I want!
Repurchase? No.

That’s everything I have in my empties bag this time! Please feel free to leave any comments below.

I just recently looked at Bourjois CC cream in drugstore as I’m looking for something light on skin for warmer months. I really like how you described, so I’ll probably pick it up as it sounds perfect for what I’ll need in spring/summer time. xx
