Hi everyone!
Firstly, you may notice things are a little different around here! I’ve recently made the full move to becoming self hosted. I’ve also got a brand new theme too & everything is a little more professional. I’m loving my new site – if you want to join us here, feel free to subscribe.
Anyway – today’s post is a review of the Zoeva En Taupe palette which I’ve been playing around with since Christmas. As you may know, Zoeva has been one of my favourite brands for eyeshadow in the past & the Cocoa Blends palette is still probably one of my most used palettes. It’s featured here on my blog quite a number of times!
I received this as a gift at Christmas (along with the Rose Golden palette by Zoeva – let me know if you’d like that reviewed too!) & this En Taupe palette wasn’t something I had asked for, so I was super excited to get it. Zoeva is an affordable makeup brand which I don’t feel is noticed enough, so I wanted to review it for you all!
Overview
This palette costs £18 for 10 shades which I personally think is pretty good for a mid range brand like Zoeva. In the UK you can get this on Cult Beauty or Beauty Bay.
Zoeva say that this palette delivers a multitude of sophisticated & elegant hues – nudes, neutral and decadent colours, inspired by autumnal taupe and browns, enabling looks to be crafted effortlessly. They say this will compliment every skin tone.
Most of the shades in this palettes are quite pale/pastel. There are a couple of deeper ones on the right of the palette though which is nice to deepen looks. It contains a mixture of mattes and shimmers which is ideal.
Review
The quality of Zoeva shadows is brilliant. They are super smooth and soft, and they pick up easily on brushes. There’s a little fall out due to how soft they are, but it’s nothing crazy. They blend out so nice and feel really creamy on the eyelids. The staying power is pretty good too – but they do fade just a little (again, nothing bad at all).
I suppose that the versatility of this palette could be better, although you can create a number of looks, the lack of dark shades can make it more difficult, and I do tend to dip into other palettes along with this one.
I appreciate the cream shade ‘Stitch by Stitch’ as I always use a cream shade to set my lid. ‘Handmade’ is a stunning & unique shimmer which I love to put all over my lid for a pretty everyday look. The pink pastel ‘Hour by Hour’, and the lilac pastel ‘Gallery’ are both pigmented and show up well on the eye despite the paleness, These are shades that I didn’t have in my collection prior to this.
In fact, I would definitely say on a whole this palette brought shades to my collection which I didn’t have, and therefore I do reach for it quite a lot for particular shades, such as those mentioned above. The quality of Zoeva is of course amazing, so I am so happy to have this one!
Swatches
If you like the look of the shades then I would definitely recommend the palette. You can achieve some really pretty girly light every day looks. Lots of the shades are so easy to throw on the lid!
Star Rating – 4 out of 5.

Firstly, congrats on going self-hosted, your blog looks beautiful 🙂 I don’t tend to wear eye shadow because it never stays put but I think these shades are very wearable and would probably look OK if they slipped a little too. I’ve only recently heard of Zoeva but your review is making me want to check them out properly now, so thank you! x

Thank you so much I’m glad you think it looks good! & yes I completely get that – I only use bold colours when I’m going out for just a few hours. These are perfect for day to day use as like you say, they don’t slip or look bad if they smudged! I hope you like Zoeva if you end up getting anything xx
I love cooler taupe shades and I’ve nearly bought this palette so many times but I’ve always been put off by the lack of darker shades. It does look really pretty though and it’s great to know the shadow formula is good quality in case I do eventually buy it. Great review x

Yes the shades in this are great! I do agree about the lack of deeper shades, that’s why I tend to dip into another palette when I use this x
I’m always on Cult Beauty but haven’t noticed this one before! £18 is so reasonable for this palette- it looks so gorgeous! I love easy to use ones too.
