Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Flawless Wear Concealer | Review

Hi everyone, Before we discuss the hyped Double Wear concealer from Estée Lauder, how was your bank holiday weekend? It’s crazy how hot it’s been here in the UK, it looks like summer back in full force at the moment. I’ve enjoyed the bright days this weekend, but I’m not going to lie, I’m so ready for Autumn now… I’m a winter baby at heart. I had a good few days with my family visiting me, which is more of a rarity these days so I do enjoy it when it happens. Back to work now though!

Today I’m going to write a well overdue review of the Estée Lauder Double Wear Flawless Wear Concealer. I got this concealer a few months ago & I’ve been meaning to upload a full post on this one as I’m a huge fan of the Double Wear Foundation! So if you’re interested to find out whether this concealer is worth the purchase, just keep reading.

Overview
The Double Wear concealer will cost you £24 for 7ml of product. I’d say this is an average price for a high end concealer.

Estée Lauder claim this concealer is a lightweight creme formula which will give you a medium buildable coverage for a flawless natural matte look that lasts for up to 15 hours. They say it will feel comfortable, stay seamless without any creasing. The concealer should not slip, slide, melt away or transfer.
It is infused with minerals and emollients to condition the skin & make blending easy. It is water & sweat resistant.

Fragrance free, Non Acnegenic (won’t clog pores), Dermatologist tested & Oil free.

The packaging is classic Lauder – a blue box with gold lettering, containing a clear tube with a gold lid. The applicator is a standard concealer small doe foot.

Review
When I picked this concealer up, I wrongly assumed it would be a full coverage as the Double Wear foundation is! It doesn’t state medium coverage anywhere on the packaging – I should have done my research a little better.
I picked the shade 1C (Light Cool), which I believe is the second lightest shade available. It works okay for me, I wish I had gone for the lighter shade though to brighten a bit more. So if you are pale & want something super brightening you may struggle to find your shade.
The wand applicator is perfect. I like a doe foot as they are easy to use & then blend out with a concealer brush.

The formula of this concealer is definitely lightweight & comfortable as Estée Lauder claim. It is a very thin liquid which blends out really easily & doesn’t look dry or cakey. I have to use 2 coats of this to get a good medium coverage. It doesn’t completely cover the darkness under my eyes, but it definitely makes them much less visible & if you don’t have as bad shadows as me, you would probably be fine with this.

I found that this concealer lasts really well under the eyes and doesn’t fade throughout the day. It sets down to a natural matte finish as promised, which doesn’t transfer! However, it can become creased during the day; it’s nothing too bad, but I usually have to tap it back out to make it look smooth again. Concealer can crease quite easily on me & few concealers remain smooth under my eyes.

I think this concealer is perfect if you are looking for something a bit lighter & comfortable to wear on a daily basis. It’s great quality & lives up to nearly all the claims. However, if you’re like me & prefer something a bit thicker & creamier with more coverage I’d say this is a pass. I have enjoyed trying this out, but I won’t be repurchasing when it runs out.

Have you tried this one out? Do you have any favourite high end concealers that you would recommend I try next? Let me know below!

Jazmin xx

I might have to try this! The packaging is gorgeous and I love the applicator shape and size. I also love anything that lasts well under the eyes throughout the day and has good coverage, so it sounds perfect for me x

Yeah it’s a nice one if you’re not bothered about super full coverage! X

I like more of a natural finish in concealer, so I think this one would be perfect for me. I just hate that it’s so expensive, I always try to find drugstore dupes for high end products. Still investing in base products always shows like a good decision, so I might try this one soon. Lovely review. xx

I think you might really like this one – but I do agree it’s pretty expensive & there are great cheaper ones xx

I’ve never tried the Double Wear concealer or the foundation! I used to like lightweight formulas but lately I’ve been loving my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer which is quite creamy.

I have to confess that I don’t think I’ve ever had any high end make up. My idea of high end is probably rimmel.

I have similar problems of finding shades that are pale enough for me .

I love the Estée Lauder double wear foundation and use it a lot because I love the full coverage matte look but I’ve never actually tried their concealer before. It actually sounds like a really nice product that I think would work quite well for me skin! great review x

I also adore that foundation. This is a nice concealer if you’re okay with medium coverage! X

To be honest I would have assumed that this would be a slightly fuller coverage too. I love the Easter Lauder Double Wear as well as the full coverage version though so would definitely be interested in trying this. I have really bad dark circles but usually settle for medium coverage so that it doesn’t crease and look cakey!

Yeah, I suppose the idea is with double wear foundation you don’t technically need a FULL coverage concealer? If you’re good with medium you might really like this one! It is a nice concealer xx

The Too Faced Born This Way concealers are my favourites! They’re the only ones I’ve ever used that don’t make my under eyes look crusty after an hour or so. I find the Double Wear foundation too matte for my dry skin so I’ve always been nervous to try the concealer. I would have definitely expected that to be full coverage too! Shame the shades aren’t that light. Glad you like it though! x

I’ve been tempted to try the too faced born this way one so it’s interesting that you mentioned it! My only issue is I really don’t like the foundation from that too faced range. However, I know that literally means nothing & I could love the concealer. Maybe I should just take the plunge as my skin is also on the drier side. Double wear works for me as long as I use a moisturising primer underneath! Xx

I would have thought it would be more like the foundation too, to be honest!
Still sounds like a decent concealer though. Still, need to get round to trying Estee Lauder products

Yes it’s strange it isn’t fuller coverage! But it’s still a nice concealer & I’ll definitely make use of the tube I’ve got! X

Estee Lauder Double wear foundation is one of my fav high end foundations. I will have to take a look at this concealer as I prefer the natural looking ones. 🙂
