Empties #12

Ready for another empties post? My twelfth one to be exact. I can’t believe I have already got through that much stuff. My last Empties post was published at the beginning on July (You can see that HERE if you’re interested), so this bunch of stuff is about 2 months worth of used of products. I love these kinds of posts as I get to share my full rounded opinion of the product, so I hope you find this one helpful in some way.

Just as a reminder, I don’t include things I have spoken about ALOT in these empties post’s anymore – so you’ll no longer have to deal with me talking about how much I love Garnier soothing botanical toner, and various other favourites of mine!

Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo & Conditioner
So I do like this shampoo & conditioner combo, and I enjoyed using it as it left my hair feeling both clean and smooth. However, I can’t say it gave me much volume unfortunately, but I don’t think many volume shampoos/conditioners work super well (of course there are a few). But for something at affordable as Aussie, this combo did work well & I would consider getting both again.
Repurchase? Maybe.

Soap & Glory The Scrub Of Your Life (Squeezy Tube)
When I first got this scrub I thought it was going to be so good because it’s in a squeezy tube! I thought this would make things easier & even thought about the great things I could include about the packaging in an empties post when I’d used it all up. But it actually made it harder. I found it difficult to squeeze product out of the tube. I had to use both hands and squeeze the scrub directly onto my body, which sometimes resulted in the product rinsing away and being lost entirely. The scrub itself is really good, I have used it many times in a tub, and would definitely use a tub over this.
Repurchase? No.

Imperial Leather Let’s Flamingo Shower Gel
I bought this because it had cute packaging and was limited edition. I generally like imperial leather shower gel – yes it’s basic but it’s very affordable, lathers well, smells nice normally & basically just gets the job done. I liked the pink lychee & raspberry scent of this one & the cute pink colour. Can’t complain.
Repurchase? Limited edition.

The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel
Since products from this TBS range keep cropping up in my empties, you may already know that this is my favourite range they do. The scent of this is so good. It’s super zingy and refreshing & super perfect for a morning shower to wake you up and get you ready for the day. As always with TBS products, the quality of this is great.
Repurchase? Yes.

TRESemme Heat Defence Styling Spray
I used this strictly as a heat defence spray before blow drying my hair, and let me tell you, this has lasted me a long time & escaped empties many times by just continuing to spray out more product for ages after I thought it was done! I have no complaints about this one, it has kept my hair in good condition in my opinion & it didn’t affect my hair in any other way. I wouldn’t recommend this as a styling spray though, I just can’t see it working for that.
Repurchase? Maybe once I have used up my Kerastase Ciment Thermique heat protectant.

Avon True Oil Infused Micellar Water
As you can see I haven’t actually used up all of this micellar water, but I am going to be getting rid of it so I am still featuring it in my empties post. I didn’t get on with this. I thought I would love it as oil’s are said to be super nourishing for the skin, but I just couldn’t get past that oily feeling. If you don’t have a problem with that then you may really like it, but this one just wasn’t for me.
Repurchase? No.

Eyeronic Lashes ‘Jasmine’
You have probably heard me talk about Eyeronic lashes quite a lot on my blog (including in my empties posts) because I truly love them so much! Jasmine is one of my favourite styles as they aren’t too heavy or dramatic for my eyes – I prefer the more natural lashes. However, Eyeronic have actually discontinued the range of lashes that this set come from which is so upsetting. I did order a bunch of sets on their sale before they stopped selling them so hopefully I have enough to last me a little while.
Repurchase? If I could.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter
Another product I have featured in my empties more than one time. I don’t recall ever purchasing a tub of Soap & Glory Righteous Butter, but I always have some in my collection thanks to gift sets etc. I do really like this one, it is just the right level of thickness. It absorbs in quite quickly, but you can actually still feel the moisture for a while afterwards. If you’re planning on getting dressed into jeans or tights straight after, I’d probably skip on this one and choose something a bit lighter like a lotion. But for any other purpose I’d definitely recommend! Plus that scent is a classic.
Repurchase? I have some more in my collection still.

Zoella Sweet Inspirations Body Mist Mini
I have finally used up this mini body mist. It has been in my handbag for a while ready to be used if I fancy it when I’m out. I’m not the biggest fan of this scent, it’s a bit too sweet for me, I prefer a floral or super fruity. Whereas this smelt like sweets – a little sickly. It was okay though & I used it up on the go, which these mini’s are ideal for. I still have quite a few Zoella mini mists so I’m stocked up for a while.
Repurchase? No.

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
Does this count as empty? I’m including it anyway! I am getting rid of this one as it’s definitely a good idea to change sponges out after a while. I love this sponge for applying foundation. I haven’t tried the ‘real’ beauty blender so I don’t know how this compares, but I do love it & it does a great job.
Repurchase? Already have.

NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation
I still have a love hate relationship with this one. Sometimes I LOVE it – it gives me amazing coverage & stays put all day. Other days, I find it way too drying for my skin. I also find that if I wear this consistently it can dry my skin out further, so I only use it a couple days a week at most. That’s fine for me though as I enjoy to rotate my foundations. If you have normal or oily skin & love a full coverage matte look, I think you’d love this one.
Repurchase? Yes – My shade was in the reduced section!

Avon Super Definition Liquid Eyeliner
I got this one at Christmas time as part of a gift. I thought this one was okay – it was black & stayed on for quite a while. It was pretty easy to use as it is a felt tip, the nib is a little smaller than a lot of felt tip liners but it still works well. It didn’t crumble or flake. If my eye’s watered (which luckily they don’t too often), it did smudge a little bit, so if you have a problem with that kind of thing then I’d say stay away (The Benefit Roller Liner is what you need!) It faded a bit throughout the day if I had it on for a decent length of time.
Repurchase? No.

Soap & Glory Supercat Liquid Eyeliner
Another liquid liner in the same empties post… They just seemed to finish at the same time. I definitely prefer this one! I didn’t have a problem with this one fading or smudging. It’s super easy to use – the nib is a bit longer than the Avon one which I liked more. It’s a nice shade of black too. This eyeliner lasted me longer than I expected it too as I did use this one more frequently than the Avon one & I got both at the same time.
Repurchase? Probably at some point.

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Spot Wand
I picked this one up quite a while ago to take on holiday with me as it was small enough to stick in my travel bag. I don’t tend to get a lot of blemishes & when I do, I usually pop on some Savlon or Sudocrem which clears it up better than this for me personally. This one may be good for travelling or on the go though. However, I haven’t used this enough to know for good or bad it is. I definitely haven’t used it up completely, but I’ve had it for too long now & it needs to be binned.
Repurchase? No.

Clinique Moisture Surge Replenishing Hydrator Mini x2
I really liked this Clinique moisturiser & it is super light and absorbs right away, but it still gives you a good amount of moisture! I recently picked up the full size of this & have been using it in the warmer months. I do think I might need something a bit more creamy & moisturising when the weather gets colder, but for now I really love this one. (Read my full review HERE)
Repurchase? Already have.

Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask
Who doesn’t love these? There really isn’t anything negative to say about these sheet masks. They are an incredible price & always leave my skin feeling so much more hydrated and alive! They really give me that boost when my skin is needing the extra help. If you want a little pick me up before an event, or just if your skin is feeling dry, then definitely give these a go.
Repurchase? Yes.

Superdrug Superfruits Exfoliating Mask
My sister got me this one a bit ago along with some other Superdrug masks. This one did leave my skin feeling smooth,  but it looked slightly red afterwards & tingled whilst on, which made me think that with continued use my skin could be a bit sensitive to this one. So I didn’t use the entire packet.
Repurchase? No.

Montagne Jeunesse Buttercream Dream Mud Mask
My friend got me this one which was super nice of her. It’s a thick creamy mask that gives your skin a boost of moisture. It goes on as a white cream & dries down to be clear. When I rinsed this off my skin felt so soft and smooth! It smells incredible, like Costco cake (if you have had it before). It did tingle a bit whilst on but no signs of irritation afterwards, so I think this is normal!
Repurchase? If I see it.

GlamGlow GentleBubble Cleanser
Since this is only a tester sachet I only got to try this cleanser out twice, so I can’t tell you my 100% tried & tested opinion, but from what I have tried I think this is a really good cleanser! My skin felt really clean after using, but not stripped or tight at all which is perfect for me as my skins a little dry. I think this would be a great cleanser for someone with more sensitive skin. I like the gel formula to this too, they’re my favourite kind of cleansers.
Repurchase? I might get the full size when I’ve used up some cleansers in my collection as I have too many right now.

Bumble & Bumble Thickening Shampoo & Conditioner
Again, these are only tested sachets so bare that in mind when reading my opinion. I really liked the results when I used this combo. My hair was clean, not weighed down but also not so light as a feather than I couldn’t style it. I do actually think that this gave my hair a bit more body & thickness for the day of washing, but it didn’t last longer than that – still for a shampoo/conditioner this is impressive. The conditioner didn’t seem to make my hair feel really soft & manageable as a lot of conditioner do, but I definitely think that could be to do with the fact I usually use more than I got in the tester sachet!
Repurchase? Tempted to get the shampoo at some point!

& that’s all for my empties post this time. Do you have any of these products in your collection? It feels so good to be able to throw all these out now I have written the post & get ready to fill my basket once more.

Thanks so much for reading.

Jazmin xx

I was actually wondering about that Avon micelar water, I thought of getting it, but I’m so glad you included it in this post. I’m definitely not going to pick it up as I hate oily feeling of my skin, I rather just wash my face, so it feels clean and makeup is off. Lovely post. xx

Ah I am glad you found this helpful then! I much prefer that clean soft feeling as opposed to super oily. X

Oh wow, you managed to get through so much! My empties usually have about 5 things in them. I love Soap & Glory body products and had no idea you could get the scrubs in a tube. I can imagine that being difficult though, surely it’s a bit too thick and gets stuck easily? I’m glad that you’d repurchase most of them! x

I seemed to get through a lot this time! Yeah the soap & glory scrub just doesn’t work well in a tube! It’s too thick as you said.
      Thanks for reading!! X

I’ve only just purchased the NYX foundation, so I’m still trialling it, but I’m finding I’m having a bit of a love hate relationship with it, so I’m testing a few different primers with it!

The pink grapefruit shower gel sounds amazing, what a great scent! Aussie haircare and RT sponges are go to’s of mine, it’s a shame you didn’t think that it gave you much volume, it works great for me! You’ve gotten through so much stuff!

I love pink grapefruit!! Ah does it? My mum really likes Aussie hair care too, I find it pretty good but just not in terms of volume! I like L’oreal Fibrology for Volume sometimes! x

I think I’ll forever use the Soap and Glory scrub. My all time fave! xx
