Hey everyone, I can’t believe how quickly this month is going?! It already feels like we are in the midst of winter with these frosty mornings. But don’t worry, it is technically still Autumn for a while yet! Today on the blog I am going to share with you my current favourite lipsticks that I reach for a lot! I’ve chose six from my collection, and when I swatched them all together I noticed the similarities in them, but they are all unique in their own way, and as any lipstick lover knows, no two are the same! So if you want to know more about my favourite lipsticks, just keep reading.
Becca Ultimate Lipstick Love – Truffle (£20)
As you can see in the swatch, this Becca lipstick is a warm rosy nude shade, it has a little brown to it also. It is such a stunning every day shade that goes well with lots of makeup looks. I do like to pair this one with a lip liner – my go to choice is the NYX lip liner in Peekaboo Neutral. It has a nice creamy finish which is super comfortable to wear. It isn’t so creamy that it comes off, it actually lasts a long time on the lips which surprised me as cream finishes can often wear off quickly! I do have to top up once or twice in the day, which I don’t think is a lot for a finish such as this. For me, it is really flattering whilst also being moisturising. If you are into pinky nudes, browns or reds then definitely check out Becca’s selection.
Nude By Nature Satin Liquid Lipstick – Wisteria (£20)
This one is a newer addition to my lipstick collection, but I have been really loving it since I got it, so it definitely made the cut for my favourite lipsticks. I would class this as a deeper pinky nude. It isn’t so different from the Becca lipstick, but it appears slightly brighter and lacks the brown tint that the Becca one has. Again, it is very wearable! The satin finish is not drying as a matte would be, but it does have extra lasting powder than a cream finish. This one I will only need to top up if I eat something more than a little snack. I am loving this brand at the moment too, they are vegan & cruelty free.
Mac Matte Lipstick – Velvet Teddy (£17.50)
An oldie but a goodie… how could this not be included in my favourite lipsticks post? Do you remember when everyone was obsessed with this one? I still reach for it often & it never lets me down. It is a true fairly deep warm nude on me, but I do believe this is one of those shades that can look different on everyone. I find that it can be paired with any look, specially when I have done something a little more bold on the eyes. It has a matte finish, but as it comes in a bullet form I find that it is much less drying than a liquid matte, and is actually pretty creamy. It’s comfortable, long lasting & stunning on everyone. Can anyone resist?
Colourpop Creme Lux Lipstick – Scorpio Moon ($7.50)
My favourite colour is definitely purple, so of course when Kathleen Lights released a purple lipstick in collaboration with Colourpop, I ordered it. Since then I’ve loved it! It has a mauve tones within it and I find it flattering on my pale skin, but I am sure it would look amazing on all skin tones! It is a ‘creme’ lipstick, but the finish is actually pretty matte in my opinion and can get just slightly drying after a while. To counteract this I like to apply a lip balm underneath.
NYX Suede Matte Lipstick – Rosé The Day (£8)
Nyx have such a great variety of lip products for an affordable price, so it’s not surprising that the brand is getting a mention in my favourite lipsticks post. I absolutely love this nude for an every day makeup look. It’s so easy to wear with anything! The Suede matte lipsticks are a lovely formula. They give a true matte finish, but they aren’t drying due to the suede element. They last really well on the lips and will only need touching up after eating. I think this one is probably my most worn currently!
Lime Crime Velvetines – Polly (£18)
When I am looking for a lipstick that will last the entire day without budging, I go for a Lime Crime velvetines, so of course I had to include one in my favourite lipsticks. They are a little drying, but sometimes I don’t mind that and will choose staying power over comfort. I adore the shade Polly, it is fairly similar to Scorpio Moon, but it has more magenta in it. When I looked at the Lime Crime website, I couldn’t find this shade anywhere & I’m thinking it has maybe been discontinued, which is heartbreaking! If you see a shade in this range that you like, I would say go for it.
There are plenty other lipsticks I could have mentioned in this post & it was hard to limit myself, but these 6 are my current favourites! I hope that you have found this post helpful. Have you tried any of these ones? Let me know below!
