Hi everyone! I can’t believe that 2019 is almost over and it’s time to share with you my yearly favourites once again. I have fallen in love with so many products this year, and probably tried more new things than ever before. I have definitely seen myself dive more into higher end products, but I still have my drugstore staples too! I also have a GIVEAWAY at the end of the post to say Happy New Year & thank you for all the help! More on that later though.
MAKEUP
Fenty Hydrating Primer (£24)
It’s no secret that I have been loving this primer. I’m more than half way through this one and will definitely repurchase. If you love a hydrated base under makeup then I’d 100% recommend this primer – it only came out this year & I got it pretty much as soon as it did as it sounded amazing & it did not let me down. It allows makeup to go on so smoothly & I would say it helps keep makeup lasting well; better than other hydrating primers I have used too.
L’oreal Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation (£10.99)
I tried this foundation on a friends recommendation and fell in love with it straight away so there is no way this couldn’t be included in my 2019 yearly favourites! I posted a full review of this L’oreal foundation on my blog which you can check out here. I love this for day to day wear as it is a perfect medium / full coverage foundation that makes the skin look super healthy and fresh – I never feel like this is too heavy or cakey on the skin as it is super comfortable. Such an affordable option too.
Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer (£25)
If you read my last post then you’ll know I am obsessed with this concealer at the moment & have been for a few months now. I am so glad I picked this one up as it has quickly become my favourite concealer that I can’t live without. One tube of this lasts me so long as it contains more than your average concealer (reflected in the price). It has perfect full coverage in hydrating formula that doesn’t look dry under my eyes and it doesn’t dry the skin out either despite the amazing coverage. If you love a thick concealer then definitely try this out, you won’t regret it.
Benefit Brow Zings (£27)
I have been using this brow powder & wax duo since the beginning of the year so it definitely qualifies for my 2019 yearly favourites. Prior to this I was using a pomade which I did really love, but this Brow Zings palette has been so much easier to use and looks more natural too. I am able to achieve a more fluffy appearance with this product which I love. I haven’t even hit pan on this yet so it’s definitely worth the money for me.
Too Faced Born This Way Loose Powder (£22)
This Too Faced powder is the first loose powder that I have ever used and genuinely really liked. I find loose powders can definitely be too drying and can create a base that’s too matte and cakey. However, this one is lovely – it melts into the skin setting everything in place without making me look super dry. I use this every single day without fail.
Fenty Sun Stalk’r Bronzer in Shady Biz (£23)
Bronzer’s are one thing that my collection was definitely short of at the beginning of this year. I had one I really liked, which has been discontinued.. so I definitely needed to try something new to replace that! I decided on the Fenty Sun Stalk’r range as I heard a few people on Youtube talking about them. I picked the shade Shady Biz as it’s perfect for warming up my pale skin! This bronzer isn’t overly pigmented and you can layer it up for a more intense look – for me this is ideal in a bronzer because they can sometimes go muddy looking if they have too much pigment. I reviewed this one on my blog if you want to check out that too.
Colourpop x Kathleen Lights Scorpio Moon Creme Lux Lipstick ($9)
If you’re in the UK like me you’ll know it’s difficult to get your hands on Colourpop products. Earlier in the year I placed an order on their website as they were offering free UK delivery! This creme lux lipstick was one of the things I got. I love purple/mauve toned lipsticks as I find them flattering on my skin tone. This lipstick is comfortable to wear, almost matte, but stays on a really long time so it’s a win win! I wear this lipstick loads despite it’s fairly bold colour.
Becca Ultimate Lipstick Love in Truffle (£20)
My absolute favourite lipstick formula this year has been the Becca ultimate lipstick love’s! They are so creamy & comfortable to wear, providing you with a cream finish. However, other cream finish lipsticks have wore off so quickly in the past but this one is so pigmented and lasts really long. Of course I have to top up after eating etc. Truffle is a lovely nude/pink/brown shade that I love to wear on a daily basis. Paired with NYX Peakaboo neutral lip liner this is such a pretty look.
Revolution x Soph Extra Spice Eyeshadow Palette (£10)
Of course this has to be included in my 2019 yearly favourites – it is one of my most used palettes! Revolution truly have some of the best eyeshadows in my opinion, and for the price you can’t go wrong. I love this palette as it has some colourful shades and some more neutral shades too, so I can create a look for any occasion! It’s often a palette I take travelling for this reason. It comes with a nice big mirror too which is ideal.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (£22)
This mascara is so hyped up and it’s taken me until fairly recently to try it. I am so glad I decided to give this a go though as I’ve ended up absolutely adoring it – enough for it to make the cut to be featured in my 2019 yearly favourites! In the past I have always chose a drugstore mascara as I have found them to be just as good as high end ones, specially as I have tried a few high end ones which I ended up disliking. This one is perfect though, it gives me amazing volume and length and curl! It also doesn’t smudge or crumble which is my pet hate with mascaras!
SKINCARE
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish (£27)
This has been such a popular cleanser for ages now so I thought it was about time I tried it out. This is such a nice luxurious cream based cleanser. It makes my skin feel so fresh & soft. It doesn’t strip the skin at all so it’s perfect for dry skin, and it is also popular with those who have sensitive skin. The cloth that comes with it is also great – I use one every time to remove the cleanser & ‘polish’ the skin.
Superdrug Vitamin E Serum (£3.99)
The most affordable product on my 2019 yearly favourites. I have seen benefits in my skin since incorporating this serum into my skin care routine. Vitamin E is a powerful anti oxidant and I wouldn’t not use one now – they protect your skin against environmental damage. They help so much with skin help! This one is moisturising too so my skin is soft and protected. It’s so cheap so definitely check it out!
Kielhs Midnight Recovery Eye (£26)
I had been wanting to pick this eye cream up for such a long time as so many people love it. This one has changed my life, I know a little dramatic but honestly this stuff is amazing. My under eye area is so much smoother with continued use of this – the fine lines are much less prominent so makeup goes on much nicer. My under eyes are hydrated too. The dark circles are looking better too – I have pretty bad ones so nothing will solve them completely but I have definitely seen most difference with this one. I will always use this as my night time eye cream now, even though it is a little pricey… definitely needed to be in this post!
Clinique Moisture Surge 96 Hour Hydro Filler Eye (£27.50)
My boyfriend got me one of these months ago as I was complaining so much about my under eye creasing. I love this eye cream for mornings (You do need to let it soak in before applying makeup though). It fills out fine lines nicely and plumps the under eye so makeup sits better. It is a perfect partner for the Kielhs one. I don’t use this every single day because now I have my Kielhs one I don’t need it, but every few days I’ll pop some of this one for an extra boost and I love having it in my collection.
