Hey everyone, how are you all? I have been meaning to post a review of the Fenty Beauty Hydrating Primer for months now, and today I am finally getting round to it. It is still a relatively new launch from the brand, and they are dropping new products so frequently lately so I thought you guys might want to hear my thoughts on this one. If you want to find out more just keep reading!
Overview & Claims
This Hydrating Primer was launched last August along with their Mattifying Primer – these 2 joined the original Soft Matte primer. Each costs £24 and contains 30ml of product. This is a pretty good price for a high end primer in my opinion.
The packaging is beautiful & sleek – it is glass with a pale pink plastic pump. This also comes in a box.
This product is described as a lightweight hydrating primer for normal to dry skin. It will instantly nourish with a silky smooth formula, keeping skin comfortable all day whilst extending foundation wear.
Fenty say this is a moisture-rich hydrating primer that won’t weigh your makeup down. It is infused with grape seed oil and sodium hyaluronate – known for their hydrating properties.
It also works to soften skin, smooth away dry patches and create a filter like blurring effect; leaving a fresh, flawless canvas that lets makeup glide on smoothly without caking or settling.

Review
When the Fenty Hydrating primer was first launched I was intrigued – I liked their original soft matte primer, but my skin leans towards dry so I knew I would definitely benefit from something a little more nourishing.
This glides on and melts into the skin so nicely. I would agree that this helps to blur the skin for a more flawless appearance. It doesn’t do this quite as much as a silicone primer (such as Benefit Porefessional) but it definitely helps a little and gives you that smooth effect.
Once applied, my skin feels nice and hydrated, and ever so slightly tacky. It isn’t greasy in the slightest and it actually isn’t overly moisturising – it just adds that little bit of hydration to keep the skin looking soft and smooth. If you have super dry skin, it may not be enough for you, but if it is normal to dry, I would say it’s ideal.
Foundation goes on top of this so nicely – it glides on much nicer than without a primer and you can really tell a difference in the smoothness of the skin.
The slight tackiness helps foundation adhere and I would say this primer helps with the longevity of my makeup. I find that everything stays in place and looks fresh when I use this primer.
Over all I genuinely recommend this primer for anyone with normal to dry skin. It feels lovely & helps to keep making looking nice too!
What do you think of the Fenty hydrating primer? Have you tried it? What primer would you suggest I try next? Please leave any comments below!

I don’t use primer – I haven’t used it in years but I really do need to invest in one. Some I’ve used in the past have made my foundation look AWFUL afterwards! This sounds great tho – I still haven’t tried any Fenty products x

Oh really! You should check this one out. Fenty is a lovely brand – I’m not mad on the matte foundation but everything else I’ve tried I’ve really liked x
I’ve been struggling with dry skin recently (it used to be extremely oily). I always struggle to find the right primer. I might give this one a go, I haven’t tried this brand before xxx

This one is lovely – definitely recommend giving it a go. I’ve gotten on well with it x
I still haven’t tested a Fenty product – I need to get my act together haha! I think my next foundation purchase when I’ve ran out of my current Too Faced one will be a Fenty Beauty one. This primer sounds great for my combination skin type and I LOVE the sleek, classy packaging. xx
