Hey everyone, how are you? So good news, myself & my partner Michael are finally moving into a lovely flat this week! I have been so busy organising, packing & buying new stuff. It’s all exciting but a bit stressful. I thought now was a perfect time to do a big declutter of my product collection. I do find it difficult to get rid of things.. but I need to be conscious of space to make sure we can keep the new place tidy, so I tried really hard. So if you’re interested to see what things I got rid of, then keep reading.
3 x Limited Collection Mini Glosses
I’m not sure where these are from as they came in a gift set, possibly M&S. I have had these for ages now & I have stopped reaching for them as I have now got so many more glosses in my makeup stash. I did really like these glosses to stick in my hand bag and add on top of any lipstick. The nude toned one ‘Blush Pink’ is actually almost empty anyway. I think it’s time I declutter these!
Rimmel Scandaleyes Nude Eyeliner
I picked this one up a while ago as I wanted to try a nude liner in my waterline for certain makeup looks. I don’t ever reach for this anymore because whenever I wore it, it came off so quickly! It did not last well at all. I’ve kept hold of it for ages thinking I could just use it for instagram makeup look pictures, but I just didn’t use it so I’m definitely decluttering this one.
Gold Loose Glitter
I used to use loose glitter all the time – but now I find it so much more effort than it’s worth! This gold one came from a strictly come dancing set. I’ve had it lying about for so long so it’s time to bin it.
Lush Lip Balm
Yes, that totally ruined packaging is a Lush lip balm. I believe it is passion-fruit scent. I need to declutter this as I’m sure it must be so expired. I did really like this at the time, however I really didn’t like the taste – almost like alcohol or chemicals! Although I’m sure with it being Lush that isn’t actually what I was tasting.
NYC Beautifying Blushable Cream Stick in Soho Pink
It’s honestly a bit disgusting how long I have had this cream blusher.. I have been meaning to throw this out for so long, but I used to adore it & I’m pretty sure it’s been discontinued so I just couldn’t part ways with it. However, I don’t use this anymore as I prefer a powder blush anyway and I think it’s finally time to say goodbye to this one.
BareMinerals Mini Mineral Veil
I got this a while ago in a 24 days of BareMinerals. I don’t seem to get on with this brand all that well. I do like some of the lip products, but I’ve also tried quite a few disappointing bits from them. This powder looked too dark on my skin and it also seemed to be drying. It’s only a mini and I never used it, so it’s definitely being decluttered.
The Body Shop Seaweed Oil Balancing Toner
Considering I have dry skin I really have no idea why I own a toner which is made for those with combination/oily skin. If you do have that skin type, you might really like this one. It does make my skin feeling super clean & stripped – I suppose if you’re oily that may be a good thing. However, this product doesn’t benefit my skin and actually makes me feel really tight. I was using this on those days that I get a little excess oil – it can happen if I use certain foundations, but it is rare, so I think it’s time to get rid of this.
The Body Shop White Musk Smoky Rose Mini Fragrance
I completely forgot I had this and I dread to think just how long I have had this buried at the bottom of some drawer. I’m not obsessed with these kind of musky scents – I prefer something more sweet or floral. This one can be decluttered.
The Ordinary Caffeine Solution
I got this free when I went to The Ordinary brand training a while ago. It is supposed to target darkness and puffiness under the eyes. I thought I was going to enjoy this one as I do have dark under eyes – however I really didn’t get on with it. I didn’t see any difference to darkness under my eyes. This also dried my under eyes out to the point of peeling despite using another eye cream for hydration. This should have been binned a while ago.
Victoria’s Secret Secret Escape Fragrance Mist
This one is very nearly empty so I’m just going to throw it now instead of having to pack it to take with me to the new flat. I do love this scent & I feel bad about being wasteful and throwing it out before it’s done with. However I have so many body mists that I need to get through!
Avon Bronze Shimmer Blush
I hit pan on this ages ago as it used to be my go to shimmery bronzer – I wore it every day! Now I have so many better options in my collection and this is never getting used. I enjoyed it for a while but it’s time for this one to go.
Maybelline Master Brow Pro Palette
This is such a nice drugstore option for brows – I like using a powder / wax to fill them in and this did used to be a go to. Since this I have got the Benefit brow zings which is pretty similar but just more pigmented and longer lasting so I don’t need this anymore, so it’s time to declutter!
Maybelline Vivid Hot Lacquer in Unreal
I don’t know why I never reach for this as it is actually really nice – it is a sticky full colour gloss that adds high shine & is long lasting. I think this shade just doesn’t suit me too well. It is quite brown & I prefer a pink nude. I have been meaning to try wearing it a bit more but I still just didn’t use it so I’m going to get rid of this.
2 x Primark Velvet Matte Lip Crayons
I have used these a lot and they are almost empty anyway. They are really good for throwing on with a minimal makeup look as the shades are quite natural. They don’t last super long on the lips and fade fast for a matte formula. However, for the price they’re great. I have so many lip products & with these being almost empty anyway I am going to throw them.
Technic Lipstick in Sing It Back
I picked this up ages ago for a blog post all about super cheap makeup. It is such a lovely shade, however it is very similar to other ones in my collection such as Mac Flat Out Fabulous. It also can smudge easily which you don’t want with such a bright shade!
L’oreal Gold Obsession Lipstick in Plum Gold
I don’t really suit these wine / plum lipstick shades so I’m not sure why I decided to pick this up. The L’oreal gold obsession range was super popular when it launched and I obviously got drawn in. I never wear this – I probably have only worn it a handful of times. It’s definitely a waste it being in my collection so I am going to declutter this one too.
L’oreal Color Riche in 646 Eva
I’ve had this a while and when I bought it I thought I was going to love it! The pinky shade is right up my street. However, this doesn’t suit me – it is a little sheer and pale. It doesn’t stay well on the lips either – it comes off quickly. I am going to be getting rid of this one too.
NYX Beauty School Dropout Palette
I’m finding it difficult to part ways with this one and declutter it! I used this so much when I first got it – the eye shadows, blusher, bronzer & highlighters are so nice and they look so pretty. However, because this packaging is so bulky I just never use it because, well, I’m lazy! I have tried to make myself use it more but I still just don’t unfortunately. It takes up too much space to keep it if I’m not going to use it.
Maybelline The Nudes Palette
This was one of my first ever eye shadow palettes if I remember correctly and I used to love it! It is nice if you are wanting something affordable and super neutral. However, you can get something much better quality from brands such as Morphe for not too much more money. I have so many better palettes now that I never use this one.
W7 The Nudes Palette
Another super neutral palette – I am getting rid of this one for the same reason as I am getting rid of the Maybelline one! This one isn’t quite as good quality as the Maybelline one anyway, and I only ever used it for the cream shade to set my eye lid. It’s definitely time to declutter this palette!
And that’s everything! I am quite proud of myself for getting rid of this much stuff. Have you done a recent declutter?

Sometimes it feels so good to do declutter. I did it at beginning of January and it felt so good. Sometimes it is just time for good clean out. Lovely blog post. xx
