Hey everyone, I hope your week has been going well! I’ve had such a busy one including a long training day for work in London… I think I’ve about caught up on sleep now. Today I am going to share with you all the skincare that I’ve recently added to my collection. I have got so many products lately due to training days & beauty conferences through work (I work at Boots) so I wanted to share with you my initial thoughts, and ask you if there’s any items you’d be interested in a full review on. This post will detail all the skincare, and I’ll be posting one all about the makeup soon.
Of course, it’s taken me a while to get to a point where I can actually say I’ve tested these things out enough to give my views, but even so these are still pretty much ‘first impressions’ and not complete tried & tested reviews… but as I mentioned, I can do some of those in the future if anyone is interested.
Bybi Mega Mist 30ml – £16
Bybi is a brand that is new to me and I got to meet the creators of this brand which was really exciting. The brand is 100% natural, vegan & cruelty free so I was really looking forward to trying some things from them. This Mega Mist is a hyaluronic acid mist that instantly refreshes skin & adds moisture. I like to use this throughout the day when my skin is feeling or looking a bit dry. I find it works well either on bare skin, or over makeup. It makes my skin feel more alive and look healthier. Hyaluronic acid is such a great skincare ingredient that I feel we should all try to add into our routine – this mist is an easy way to do so.
Bybi Bakuchiol Booster – £12
Another product that I’ve been using from Bybi is the Bakuchiol Booster. This one I have been massively enjoying. Bakuchiol is an amazing ingredient that is a natural alternative to retinol. Retinol can irritate the skin and if you have sensitive skin you need to be very careful, Bakuchiol has the same skin plumping, texture fixing, collagen creating affects yet without all the irritation and risk. In this booster the powerful Bakuchiol is added to olive squalene. I have been wanting to add an oil into my skincare routine for a while, so this is ideal. I truly think I am beginning to see my texture improve & skin become smoother. It is still early days but this is one new item that I am seriously loving.
Clinique All About Eyes Rich 15ml – £27.50
I have really troublesome under eyes, so I knew that as soon as the time came at work when I get to choose a few products to test out that I’d be choosing an eye cream. I decided to choose this super thick Clinique one. I have dry under eyes that are super dark & I also have some fine lines under there too (probably due to the dryness!). This Clinique all about eyes rich eye cream claims to hydrate & reduce circles. I have been using this one every single morning & my under eyes are gradually becoming more hydrated, and the fine lines are appearing less noticeable under makeup. I have a Kiehl’s eye cream that I love for the evening, but this Clinique one has replaced my The Body Shop vitamin E one for the day time.
Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly – £31
I haven’t used this one quite as much as some products featured on this post, but I have used it enough to share some first impressions. I find this water based moisturiser to be very fresh on the skin, it is cooling and soaks in quite fast (after the initial sticky feeling) & definitely leaves the skin feeling more hydrated. However, I think in the long term this isn’t my perfect moisturiser. I prefer something a bit thicker and creamier to really make my skin feel hydrated. If you have normal or a bit oilier skin and like a light moisturiser, you may love this for the refreshing quality whilst it also adds some hydration. For the right person this is probably a great option, but for me, I wouldn’t purchase.
Origins Mega Mushroom Soothing Treatment Lotion – £32
I haven’t tried a great deal from Origins, but it is a brand I am loving exploring at the moment. I love that their products seem to contain lots of natural skin boosting ingredients. I was very pleased to be gifted this one from work. Sometimes my skin is extra dry (after a day of wearing matte foundation for a long time maybe) and I need an extra step in my skincare routine to bring my skin back to life and to add some more hydration, so I have been experimenting with this one (though I haven’t used it a lot as of yet!) . My colleague had a reaction to something else, and said using a bit of this sorted her out so quickly! So if you have irritated, sensitive red skin I imagine this lotion could be nice to try. If you have perfect, non sensitive skin then you don’t NEED this, but if you find your skin having issues, this could be worth checking out.
Lancome Advanced Génifique Serum 30ml – £59.50
I have only used this once, so this isn’t really a review of any kind, but I did think it was worth mentioning in this post as it is a new item in my collection! This serum is one of the best selling serums, and many people adore it. It is said to improve skins barrier, leaving skin looking healthier and younger. Lancome claim this improves radiance, fine lines, firmness, uneven tone & texture. It sounds incredible. I did enjoy it when I used it, it felt nice on the skin & left me feeling smooth & hydrated, but I can’t say much more than that. I will be giving this one a bit more of a test soon – I just don’t want to get hooked because that’s expensive.
Elizabeth Arden Superstart Skin Renewal Booster 50ml – £60
I haven’t used much from Arden, but the Superstart is something I have been wanting to give a proper try since I got a sample a while back; so I was very happy to see this in my goodie bag at a recent conference! Overall I find this improves skin health – it gives my skin that fortified healthy feel, and I noticed that the last time I used this too. I think if you are wanting to spend some money on your skincare, then this is a great overall product to choose that will surely improve your skin, and strengthen that skin barrier. Arden say this boosts the effectiveness of serums / moisturisers applied on top and whilst I haven’t been using this long enough to say it definitely does, I can genuinely see that my skin feels softer, renewed and repaired.
YSL Top Secrets Instant Moisture Glow – £37
This is a multi use product from YSL that I actually didn’t know lots about, even though it is a top seller for the brand. You can use this as a moisturiser, a primer, or a refresh at any time. A YSL makeup artist actually showed us how you can use this over the top of makeup throughout the day to renew and refresh the look without disrupting the makeup underneath. I haven’t tried that for myself, but the demo I saw, it truly looked amazing. Personally, I have used this as a primer. I do usually use two primers to target different skin concerns & to achieve different results. This one is ideal to add that moisture & dewiness underneath makeup. Foundations sit nicely on top, leaving skin with that subtle glow and healthy appearance. So far, I am loving this one.
WISHFUL Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub – £34
If you’re a new product junkie like me, you’ll probably have heard a lot about the new WISHFUL skincare from Huda Beauty. If I’m really honest, when I first saw the promo for this scrub, I wasn’t obsessed and didn’t care about trying it too much. Even when I tried this on the back of my hand in store, I didn’t care too much for it, however when I received it I thought I may as well try it out. It turns out this is a really nice product. It doesn’t feel too harsh on the skin which I was surprised about, but it does leave my skin feeling very incredibly smooth! Makeup applies amazingly after using this too. It is pretty pricey for a scrub though… I have used cheaper ones that I find affective also, so I probably won’t purchase this again when I’ve used it up, but I will enjoy it until that happens.
Too Faced Hangover Pillow Balm – £18
Too Faced launched brand new skincare pretty recently and all of it seems so nice, so I was pleased to get to try this pillow balm lip treatment. And let me tell you, this is an insanely good lip balm! This one hydrates the lips instantly and it lasts for a long time too – you can still feel it hours later. It is infused with fruit oils, hyaluronic acid, conditioning butters, coconut water & REAL falling stars (the minerals from them anyway). This is ideal if you have dry lips, and it’s also perfect under lipstick as it isn’t greasy or sticky. In the cold weather this is a must, and it’s definitely one product I’ll repurchase when I run out of.
& that’s pretty much everything! There are a few other skincare products that I got which I haven’t got round to trying at all yet, so if I end up loving or hating any, I’ll be sure to let you all know.
Have you tried any of the products included in todays post? Are you tempted to? Let me know if you’d be interested in full reviews on any of these items.

I definitely recommend the eye cream if you have troublesome eyes like me – it’s a game changer x
I’m a sucker for skincare, I just can’t afford it as much since having my little one! I am very tempted to try the Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly. I loved their moisture surge as it was very light on the skin so the Hydrating Jelly sounds good to me.
I do love a good lip balm too, so I might have to check out the Too Faced Hangover Pillow Balm!
I’d best start saving now 🙂

It can be so expensive! I definitely wouldn’t have all this if it wasn’t for my job. I love Clinique moisture surge too – it’s a fab one! I recommend the pillow balm, one of the best I’ve used xx

I love the sound of the pillow balm! My lips are in a dire state right now to be honest! I’d love to try more high-end skin care and be at a point financially where I could afford it all no problem! xxx

It can be pretty expensive!! There’s no way I would have all this if it wasn’t for getting it from work. But it’s nice to try some things out. The pillow balm is one of the best balms I’ve used, so if you do want to splurge a little then its a nice choice xx
So many great sounding products here! I’ve tried the Clinique moisturiser and I can’t say I loved it either, much prefer opting for a hydrating serum and something heavier over it moisturiser wise. I’ve not tried anything from Bybi but both of those products sound great x
