Hi everyone, I hope you’ve all been doing well lately. I can’t believe we are already half way through the year. Crazy. Today I want to share with you some affordable products from the drugstore that are definitely worth picking up. It’s no secret that I have been using more and more products from high end brands; but I still have a decent amount of drugstore products that I use a lot, and wouldn’t be without! Drugstore products can truly be just as good as expensive ones, you just have to know where to look.
NYX Honey Dew Me Up Primer (£15)
I’ve been using this one for a while now, and it is still one of my all time favourite primers. It has a sticky texture, but it makes your skin appear hydrated and gives you a glow. I wouldn’t say it is actually moisturising, but it does make you look like you are. Makeup applies so smoothly and easily on top. I know £15 isn’t the cheapest option for a primer in the drugstore, but it’s honestly the best affordable one I have found.
L’oreal Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation (£10.99)
If you’re looking for a new affordable foundation I recommend this one. It’s got full coverage, a natural skin like finish, and lasts really well on the skin! I’ve found that my skin really does remain ‘fresh’ throughout the day. If you have super oily skin you may prefer something more matte, but for normal to dry skin this is perfect at keeping skin looking healthy and fresh. Definitely one of my favourite foundations.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.19)
Although I no longer use this concealer every day (other than on my eyelids as an eyeshadow primer) I would still recommend trying this one out if you want an affordable concealer. I used this for years, and it’s my favourite option from the drugstore. It gives good coverage and doesn’t look too dry and cakey under the eye area, as some concealers do! It does dry down darker than when you first apply it, so I suggest picking up a lighter shade. It’s so affordable at £4.19, so even if you don’t end up loving it, you haven’t wasted too much.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (£8.99)
I know I must mention this mascara in every other makeup post I write, but truly it’s such a great product. Better than a lot of high end options. This gives you length, curl and volume. I don’t have many mascaras that do all three. I couldn’t tell you how many of these I’ve been through, but I know keep repurchasing!
NYX Suede Matte Lipstick (£8)
Nyx have so many different lip products in terms of formula and shades. So many of them are really impressive so definitely have a look at their range, but my favourite type is the Suede Matte bullet lipsticks. They are full opaque colour, comfortable to wear, not drying at all, and last on the lips well.
Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipgloss (£9)
This is such a classic lip gloss, but I really like it so I wanted to mention it. I have mine in the shade ‘Plums Up’, and it is the perfect wash of colour. It adds just a little tint to the lips making them look healthy and plump. Although this is a plumping lipgloss, the affects aren’t so dramatic, in fact they’re super minimal, but it is nice to have that little bit of something, with just a little tingle. I like to have affordable glosses in my collection to either wear alone or throw on top of a lipstick.
Revolution Palettes
Revolution is one of the best drugstore brands for palettes in my opinion. I have quite a few in my collection and I have been impressed by all of them for the price I paid! Notably the Soph collaboration eyeshadow and highlight palettes are amazing. Shades are pigmented, pretty easy to work with, and last well. I have a few individual reviews on some palettes below if you’d like to check any out:

I love the L’oréal Infallible foundation but I find it too oily for my skin so I only use it on days I’ll be out for only a few hours! Other than that it’s fantastic. Always wanted to try the Dew Me Up primer as I’ve heard it works for oily skin too which is amazing news!
Thanks for sharing!

Ah really!? I have only been using it on my eyelids lately, perhaps I’d notice if I used it under my eyes x
