bareMinerals Butter Drench Restorative Rich Cream Moisturiser | Review

Hey everyone, I hope you’re doing okay! Today I am finally uploading a single product review here on my blog. You will hopefully be seeing a few more of these reviews coming up soon. I asked on my Instagram stories which products you’d like to hear my thoughts on, and from the moisturisers I selected, this bareMinerals Butter Drench Restorative Rich Cream came out on top, which I’m super pleased by. I have been using this one most mornings and evenings for over a month now, and since I featured it in my September Favourites, you probably know I am a fan of it. But if you want to hear some more info on this one then keep reading.

Overview
This bareMinerals Butter Drench moisturiser will set you back £32 for 50g of product. bareMinerals is a premium brand so their skincare is definitely not cheap, however I don’t think the price is too high.

As the name suggests, this cream is for those with dry/very dry skin who are looking for a rich, super hydrating cream. It contains shea butter, peptides, ceramides & amino acids to smooth skin, renew radiance and diminish fine lines and wrinkles.

bareMinerals say this moisturiser has naturally derived fragrance, is dermatologist tested and is non-comedogenic.

Review
It’s no secret that I have been enjoying this bareMinerals Butter Drench moisturiser. I have a normal to dry skin type, but I love to use rich creams and hydrate my skin a lot so I usually go for things for dry skin. I have been applying a small amount in the mornings, and a slightly larger amount in the evenings.
The Butter Drench cream is definitely rich in texture and super luxurious. It has a texture similar to butter that beginning to melt. The bergamot and eucalyptus notes really come through and the scent is spa like and delicious.

This moisturiser glides on the skin super easily, and soaks into the skin leaving it feeling smooth, soft and hydrated. Quite high on the ingredient list you will find ‘dimethicone’; when I first saw this I was a little worried, however after researching this I am actually fine with it. Although dimethicone is considered not the greatest ingredient in products such as hair care, in skin care it’s fine. It allows products to glide on and smooth out the skin, it can fill in pores & fine lines. It also is known to lock in moisture and create a sort of barrier on the skin. It is also not greasy!
Other ingredients in this moisturiser are great for skin too – peptides are building blocks of some proteins like collagen and elastin, therefore they can lead to firmer, younger looking skin. Ceramides are lipids that help skin to retain moisture and protect skin from irritants and pollution. Shea butter leads to softer skin. Glycerin (which is super high up on the ingredient list) is a great skincare ingredient as it is a humectant that pulls water into the outer layer of your skin from deeper levels of the skin, as well as from the air! All of these ingredients work towards protecting skin from dryness and keeping it healthy and in great condition.

My skin definitely feels so much more hydrated when I consistently use this bareMinerals Butter Drench cream, and it looks healthier and moisturised too. I would 100% recommend checking this out if you struggle with dry, scaly skin and want a luxurious rich cream.

Have you tried much bareMinerals skincare? Do you want to? Let me know!

The description sounds amazing! Bare Minerals has been discontinued in my country which is really sad but every time I visit a country where they have this brand I’ll definitely go check it out! Your skin also looks sooo good!

This sounds incredible! I have dry skin and it gets sooo dry in the colder months so something like this would be perfect. I don’t think I can try this though. I had a bad sensitivity reaction to their original foundation and the girl on the counter told me they use the same mineral base in all of their products so if I can’t use that, I can’t use anything. I’m not even sure if that’s true but I’ve been too nervous to try anything else since x

Oh no that’s so annoying that you had a reaction because I think you’d actually really enjoy this product. When life gets a bit more normal maybe you should ask someone on a bare minerals counter if its true. Perhaps it’s just the makeup that you can’t use! Hopefully xx

Nice to see this working so well for you! My skin isn’t dry at all, it’s probably more on the oily side so I think this would be a bit moisture overload for me!

Yeah, I think this one is definitely best for drier skin. Thanks for reading! x
