Hey everyone, hope you’ve all enjoyed a relaxing weekend! Today I am back with another product review post, and this time it’s on the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Foundation. I asked on Instagram which foundation you’d rather see a review on, and this Fenty Hydrating one came out on top, above the new Too Faced Born This Way matte.
I have had this Fenty Hydrating foundation for a while now. I don’t use it too often as I have mine in a tan shade which I got for when I have fake tan on. But I still get a decent amount of wear out of it, as it is my only tan shade in my collection. It’s definitely a popular one, so I am excited to share my thoughts on this one.
This Fenty Pro Filt’r Hydating foundation is the second foundation launch from the brand. As the name states, this is a hydrating foundation, as opposed to their first launch which was a super matte foundation. It’s great that Fenty decided to launch this as we don’t all love a matte foundation, and for me their original foundation was far too matte and I didn’t get on with it personally.
Fenty say this is a medium to full coverage foundation which is skin smoothing, light as air, and long wearing. Fenty claim this will give you a natural skin like finish and won’t settle into fine lines or clog pores. It comes in 50 shades, so you should definitely be able to find a shade that works for you, no matter your skin tone.
Within this Fenty Hydrating foundation you will find grape seed oil and sodium hyaluronate so skin will look fresh and feel comfortable all day. The formula is sweat and humidity resistant.
The packaging is a plastic tube with a pump, unlike their matte foundation which comes in a glass bottle. I don’t mind this packaging, it looks nice and sleek, and is portable so you can easily travel with it.
This retails at £27 for 32ml. The same price point as Fenty’s original matte foundation.
I was definitely hesitant before trying this foundation, simply because I really didn’t get on with Fenty’s other foundation. However, I decided to give this a go because I do much prefer hydrating foundations!
I got mine in the shade 190, which as I mentioned is a tan shade for me!
The Fenty Hydrating foundation has a creamy consistency. It isn’t super thin, but it also isn’t thick. A little bit blends a long way due to its creaminess, so you really don’t need to use a lot. I like to apply mine with a round top foundation brush.
I agree with Fenty that this is a medium to full coverage foundation. It is pretty easy to build up to achieve a full cover, but with one layer you will achieve a nice medium coverage.
My favourite thing about this foundation is that it really stays fresh looking all day! Even if I wear it all day long it still looks fresh on the skin, (although maybe a little faded in some areas). But it doesn’t sink into lines, gather around the nose, or get oily. In this respect (and the texture of it) it reminds me of the L’oreal Infallible fresh wear foundation, one of my favourite drugstore foundations.
I love how this looks on the skin, it gives me such a lovely skin like natural finish, but with great coverage! Although hydrating, it isn’t a dewy finish as some may imagine. It’s a finish I think most people would like.
I think the price point of £27 is really good for a high end premium foundation, a little lower than the average.
I like to pair this with the Fenty Soft Silk Hydrating Primer, as I have a normal to dry skin type. It also works super well with my favourite Too Faced concealer (to conceal and contour) and the Too Faced Born This Way powder.
That’s all for this review, I really recommend trying this foundation as it truly is lovely. Let me know your thoughts if you have already given this a go in the comments below!
Thanks so much for reading.
