Summer Fridays Overtime Mask | Review

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! It’s been snowing a lot here today, so I’ve been wrapped up warm inside drinking plenty of tea. Today I wanted to share a review of the Summer Fridays Overtime mask. I got this product from the Cult Beauty advent calendar at Christmastime & prior to this I hadn’t heard much about this brand, however since this, I have heard more & more people talking about it! Maybe a coincidence, but I thought it was interesting & wanted to share my thoughts on this mask.

Overview
At £39 the Summer Fridays Overtime mask is pretty pricey. For this price you will receive 64g of product. It is vegan and cruelty free.

The Overtime mask is a clarifying exfoliating mask perfect for dull and congested skin needing a luminous glow. Summer Fridays say that it is packed with so many amazing ingredients. Minerals, vitamin A, K, E & C, pumpkin, apricot seed powder, oat kernel powder.
– Pumpkin exfoliates and hydrates for brighter skin and a balanced complexion.
– Apricot seed powder gently sweeps away dead skin for a smooth finish.
– Oat kernel powder is a moisturising, anti-inflammatory ingredient that will leave the skin velvety soft.
– Vitamin E protects skin from free radicals.

Summer Fridays say to use this Overtime mask once or twice a week, and to leave on a thick layer for 10 minutes before washing off to reveal glowing skin.

The packaging of this is lovely. It is a metallic orange aluminium tube with a small screw top, with basic white lettering. It also came in a white box.

Review
I have been using this Summer Fridays Overtime mask for around a month now as part of my weekly routine. I like to exfoliate my skin with physical exfoliants as I haven’t found a chemical one that is perfect for me yet.
When I first applied this mask to the skin I felt it could end up being a little harsh, as it does feel quite gritty! However once you rinse this off after the 10 minutes, it glides off easily and seems to exfoliate the skin in a gentle way, which I was really pleased with.

The smell of this isn’t for me. It smells quite a lot like cinnamon to me, but it is maybe the pumpkin that I can smell. If you like those kind of winter warming ‘chai latte’ type of scents then you might love it. It isn’t something that would put me off from using it.
I love how smooth my skin is after using this, it is literally like velvet! It also doesn’t feel stripped or tight & some exfoliators can cause my skin to feel that way.
The key ingredients of this mask seems great – I love that each have their own benefits. Vitamin E is always one of my favourite ingredients as my skin really shows the difference if I don’t incorporate it into my routine. And pumpkin is an amazing ingredient that I am only just starting to learn about.

My skin can definitely get dull, but I truly think this mask is helping with the dullness, it always looks so much fresher and brighter in the days after I have used this mask. I haven’t had congested skin at all through January. I couldn’t say for certain that it is due to this mask, but it could well be.
I do think this mask is very pricey… however only using it once a week it will take me a long time to use up the whole tube.
Overall I really enjoy using this mask, the only downside is the scent but it is something I can live with!

Have you tried this Summer Fridays Overtime mask? Would you be tempted to? Let me know!

I haven’t tried the blue one, but that seems to be the most popular one! I love this one x
