Hey everyone, I hope you’ve all been well & had a great week. Today I want to share a review with you of the Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly – a moisturiser which was included in my February Favourites 2021 post which I uploaded last week. I am keen to share my full review of this because this product is actually not what I expected it to be, and is in fact much better. So I hope that you find this review helpful.
OVERVIEW
Clinique describe their Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly as an ‘unbelievably lightweight water jelly that delivers 24 hour hydration repair plus pollution protection.’ They say that all skin types can use this product.
This moisturiser will ‘lock in the good – like moisture – and block out the bad – like pollution.’ It will strengthen the skins moisture barrier and improve resiliency.
This is an oil free formula which is non-sticky, soaks in fast and leaves no residue. It will leave the skin smooth, strong and healthy with a clean glow.
This contains sunflower seed cake, barley extract, cucumber fruit and hyaluronic acid.
The Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly costs £32 for 125ml which I think is pretty reasonable for a premium brand such as Clinique as you are getting a lot of product for your money.
REVIEW
I have had this in my skincare collection for a while now without giving it a proper chance and go. I initially thought that this Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly was more suited for an oily skin type as it is so lightweight. The Dramatically Different range has a couple of other options, and after trying the lotion and not really liking it much at all, I thought that this range was not for me, and instead stuck to the moisture surge range.
However, I watched a youtube video (I think it was a Hyram one) which said that this moisturiser is actually one of the best products Clinique has to offer in their opinion, and it is actually pretty hydrating and suited for most skin types! So I decided to put this Hydrating Jelly to the test. I used this every morning and night as my moisturiser for 2 weeks. I put aside my rich bareMinerals butter drench cream and opted for this lightweight jelly.
Clinique have described this jelly pretty well on their website. It is definitely lightweight, non-sticky, leaves no residue, soaks in fast and leaves the skin with a lovely little glow. My skin also feels more plumped up after using this, likely due to the hyaluronic acid which hydrates skin really well. I have a normal to dry skin type and I found this moisturiser hydrated my skin well, it did not make it drier to switch from my rich cream to this, and it left my skin feeling so smooth and fresh. I enjoyed using such a lightweight moisturiser as my skin didn’t feel too heavy after adding SPF (in the morning) or an oil (in the evening).
I like that this is pretty basic, but it completely serves its purpose of hydrating the skin. As much as I do love a rich cream, this felt so fresh on the skin and I can definitely see the appeal, and I think this is going to be my new go-so in the summer months when I want something lightweight.
I think this would work really well for most skin types. Maybe if you are particularly dry, you may prefer a cream based moisturised that leaves a moisturising residue on the skin. But I can see most people loving this!
I hope that you found this review helpful. Let me know in the comments below if you have used this Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly before, and what you thought of it.
