Hey everyone! I’m here today with yet another empties, and this is my 18th one.. which is crazy! Empties are some of my absolute favourite posts to read and write. I did film an empties video for my YouTube channel which you can watch HERE if you prefer, but I also wanted to write this as a blog post as I know some of my readers love them too. This post has a few extras in that aren’t included in my video as I filmed the video around 2 weeks ago.
This empties post does include quite a lot of skincare as I did clear out my skincare cabinet recently too. Some of the things I decluttered were just empty in the cabinet, others have expired & a few I decided to just get rid of.
BODY CARE
Zoella Beauty Snow Polished Body Scrub
I finally used up this Zoella Beauty body scrub which I’ve had for far too long. I think this one was from one of the Christmas collections. As far as I’m aware, Zoella Beauty are no longer creating new products. I didn’t like this body scrub unfortunately but I managed to use it up. It is a sugar type scrub and it didn’t really scrub my skin enough. It was very sticky in texture too. The sugar had kind of separated from the liquid in the tube too which meant it didn’t really work well. Perhaps this is because I had it unused for so long… The scent was also non-existent.
Repurchase? No.
Imperial Leather Mallow’ mazing Shower Cream
I don’t know why I picked this one up really – I guess a marshmallow scented body wash is quite interesting. However I personally much prefer a fresh fruity shower gel, rather than a sweet shower cream as I don’t find a sweet scent very refreshing. This did the job, and I have loved some Imperial Leather body washes, but I wouldn’t go for the marshmallow one again.
Repurchase? Not this scent.
Radox Perky Peach Shower Gel
It took me quite a while to use this one up as it is a big bottle and it lathers up super well so you find yourself not needing to use as much. I liked the fresh peach & berry scent too, but it wasn’t very strong. I like a strong scent but if you are sensitive to scents then you would likely love this subtle scent. This cleansed my skin without stripping it and I enjoyed using it. It is also really affordable which is great.
Repurchase? At some point.
Mitchum Ultimate Gel Powder Fresh Antiperspirant & Deodorant
I decided to pick up this gel deodorant as I fancied trying something new. I always go for the spray deodorants but I’ve never found one I absolutely love and tend to get whatever is on offer. I did enjoy this formula and it did it job for sure. It took some getting use to because it of course feels wet when it goes on and you need to let it dry, but it doesn’t take long to dry. I would definitely consider buying this again.
Repurchase? Probably.
Nivea Pearl & Beauty Antiperspirant
I was not a fan of this at all. It left white marks on the skin which is just a pain when it comes to deodorant, and with so many others not doing this, I just wouldn’t recommend this one. It did smell nice and it also worked but the cons outweigh the pros.
Repurchase? No.
HAIR CARE
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry
I must feature dry shampoo in every single empties post… Batiste dry shampoo is my go to and it always works to get me through an oily hair day! I am trying to use less dry shampoo at the moment as it isn’t the best for your hair, however some times I just need it! I just make sure to wash it out the following day.
Repurchase? Yes.
Johnsons Baby Shampoo
I’m including this in the hair care section since it is shampoo however I used it to clean my makeup brushes, not on my hair. This lasted me a very long time and it cleaned my brushes well, so I definitely recommend it. I haven’t repurchased yet as I have been using anti-bac soap instead but I think I will get this again as I think it is likely more gentle for the brushes.
Repurchase? Yes more than likely.
Bumble&Bumble Invisible Oil Heat Protective Primer Mini
I’ve spoken about this a number of times now, including in my last empties post! I absolutely love this product and I use it every single time before using heat tools on my hair. It not only protects my hair, it nourishes it too. I have the full size of this already.
Repurchase? Already have it.
SKINCARE
Johnsons Makeup Be Gone Wipes
Going to whizz through this one because I’ve spoken about these so much. I am trying to use makeup wipes less and instead opt for balm or other makeup removers, but sometimes you just need a wipe. I love these ones are they are nicely saturated in moisture and they remove makeup well without drying me out. I always always cleanse my skin after using a wipe anyway.
Repurchase? Yes but hopefully not as often.
Estee Lauder Advance Night Repair Mini
ANR is one of Lauders best selling products and oh my gosh I can see why! I love using this at night to bring my skin back to life. This one truly does heal & repair the skin overnight leading to healthier skin. It is super pricey though. I have another mini in my collection which I am currently using up. I would definitely consider purchasing this as a treat to myself in the future.. maybe when an offer is on!
Repurchase? Maybe.
The Body Shop Camomile Eye Makeup Remover Mini
I found this virtually empty in my skincare cabinet so decided to quickly use the rest and pop it in my empties bin! I have mixed feelings about this one. At first I enjoyed this, it removes makeup relatively well and it doesn’t irritate the eyes at all. However, since using the Clinique eye makeup remover and even the Nivea one I have realised this doesn’t work as well as I thought it did. The Clinique & Nivea ones remove every bit of makeup easily, this one takes more work and doesn’t seem to get rid of all mascaras (for example Clinique High Impact mascara!). If you have sensitive eyes and need something gentle, then you might like this.
Repurchase? No.
Soap & Glory Vitamin C Facial Wash Mini
I finally finished up this mini facial wash. I actually really get on well with this one! I don’t tend to opt for gel cleansers anymore as they feel more stripping on the skin, however this one isn’t stripping at all and it is such a nice option. I like this in the morning as the vitamin C really helps to brighten the skin. I had a full size one of this a few years ago which was likely in a previous empties, and it was nice to use this mini – it reminded me how much I loved it.
Repurchase? I would buy another mini and maybe take it travelling.
Nivea Gentle Exfoliating Scrub
I have definitely spoken about this scrub here on my blog before, and I think it has featured on an empties post before too. I love this one as it is the perfect level on scrubby-ness! It isn’t overly gentle but it also isn’t too harsh either. It leaves my skin feeling lovely and smooth. I haven’t been using physical exfoliants quite as often as I used too as I have incorporated chemical exfoliants into my skincare routine. However I still love a physical scrub from time to time and this one will always be a go to.. plus it’s super affordable.
Repurchase? Already have.
Clarins Re-Boost Refreshing Hydrating Cream Mini
I feel pretty indifferent towards this light moisturiser. It is a thin cream which provides some hydration however I prefer a thicker richer cream or if I want something lightweight I would opt for a gel. This might be good for you if you like a light moisturiser which is also cream based. For me it was just okay, and Clarins is a pricey brand so it would have to be particularly good for me to purchase it.
Repurchase? No.
GlamGlow BubbleSheet Sheet Mask
I used this whilst chilling in the bath and it is a nice and fun experience as the mask bubbles up and ‘oxygenates’. This mask is suppose to be a deep cleanse however I would rather just cleanse my skin in the normal way and use a hydrating sheet mask if I want to use a mask! I didn’t like how tight and stripped my skin felt after using this – I had to load on the moisturiser.
Repurchase? No.
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Mini
Another one of my favourite products! I had this mini in my cabinet and decided to use it up before cracking open my new full size version as with no travelling this past year I hadn’t gotten around to using it and I didn’t want it to expire. I adore this thick creamy cleanser which cleans my skin whilst leaving it plump and hydrated.
Repurchase? Always.
Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic Mini
I have had this for such a long time and although it isn’t completely empty, it mostly is and I need to get rid of it. Many of you may know I love a lot of products from the brand Liz Earle, however despite this being one of their best sellers, I am not really a fan! This leaves a film of residue on my skin which I don’t like. I also don’t think this does much for my skin.
Repurchase? No.
Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser Mini
I think this specific moisturiser has been discontinued by the brand and replaced with the Light Moisturiser (which is great). This one is similar to the Clarins one I spoke about – it is just okay! It is a minimally hydrating cream based product. I am glad they have replaced this one with something better.
Repurchase? Discontinued.
Elizabeth Arden Great 8 Eight Hour Moisturiser SPF 35 Mini
This is a very popular Arden product and I would consider it a classic! I got this mini to try and I can definitely see why this is so popular. It is a hydrating moisturiser which provides SPF too. I enjoyed using this a lot and would consider purchasing myself, however I have lots of moisturisers that I love.
Repurchase? Potentially in the future.
Garnier SkinActive Botanical Balm Soothing Moisturiser
This has well and truly expired, so it is going in the bin. I have used up about half of it though so I thought I would mention it in this empties post! I liked that I could use this as a moisturiser or a hydrating mask. It is a very thick cream which is suitable for a dry skin – if you are oily I think you would hate this. I liked this as a mask more than a moisturiser as it gave me a nice boost of moisture. However I think I have better things in my collection which is probably why this never got completely used up.
Repurchase? No.
Elizabeth Arden Hyraluronic Acid Capsules
As you can see this isn’t empty and they have just been decluttered! I used 2 or 3 or these are I hated the texture so much! It is a very thick paste that feels super heavy on the skin. I like hyaluronic acid as an ingredient but you can get really affordable options, such as The Ordinary one which I use and much prefer. I like some of the other Arden capsules, but these weren’t great at all.
Repurchase? No.
MAC False Lash Extreme Black Mini
OK so I know this is makeup not skincare but it’s the only makeup item in this empties! I got this little mini free with an online order. I like this mascara a lot and if I didn’t have so many unopened mascaras at the minute I would definitely consider picking this up. The brush is my ideal type – bristles that are quite compact! This doesn’t smudge or transfer and gives my lashes a bit of everything.
Repurchase? Maybe one day.
Origins Ginzing Into The Glow Brightening Serum Mini
I really didn’t like this serum at all. The ingredients sound like they could be very irritating and this actually stung my skin. I applied it after using a scrub one day and it stung so bad I had to remove it immediately. I like using vitamin c in a cleanser form.
Repurchase? No.
Allies of Skin 20% Vitamin C Brighten and Firm Serum Mini
I got this in the Cult Beauty advent calendar at Christmas. I haven’t used this up as I cannot stand the texture at all, so it is going in the bin. This is a very sticky glue like paste. It was honestly hard to blend out into the skin due to the stickiness. I couldn’t bare that feeling on my skin. So maybe this works to brighten and firm, but it’s not worth the texture for me to even find out.
Repurchase? No.
Lancome Moisturiser Minis: Renergie Multi Lift Ultra & Absolue
I thought I would speak about these two together quickly – I didn’t like either of them and the cost of Lancome skincare is, well, alot! Specially the Absolue range is very very pricey and I didn’t like it enough to ever consider buying. The Absolue is very greasy, and the Renergie is thin and didn’t do enough for my skin.
Repurchase? No.
That’s everything! I hope that you enjoyed this empties post.
Thank you for reading,
Jazmin xx
