Hi everyone, wow I can’t believe it’s been TWO weeks since I uploaded here on my blog. I am sorry for my absence! I started my new job and I have been settling in well there, so I have had less time to work on my blog as the jump in hours has really taken all my energy. However, I am hoping I can now begin uploading every week. Today I am going to share my April favourites with you, and I have some great products to speak about!
Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Milk (£10)
I have had this Soap & Glory body lotion for quite a long time now, and it is a big bottle so it is definitely taking me a while to get my way through it. However, out of all the many lotions & butters I have in my collection, I have definitely been reaching for this one the most recently! I love the thin milky texture that soaks into the skin really nicely and quickly, but it also leaves the skin nice and hydrated which really smooths my skin out for an even healthy glow. Sometimes a butter is just too rich, specially as the weather is becoming warmer, so I do like something a bit thinner so I can get changed quickly after my shower. I also adore the scent of this and it is quite unique to other body care products – it is almond, oat & brown sugar. This is a super affordable product that I recommend if you need a new body moisturiser.
Too Faced Born This Way Matte Foundation (£29)
I have loved this foundation for quite a while now, but I wanted to speak about it again in my April favourites as it’s been pretty much the only foundation I’ve used lately! Unlike in my old job, I now don’t need to wear a face mask all day everyday, so I have been wearing a foundation again (I was previously skipping on foundation 99% of the time). I work fairly long days so I need to use a long wearing foundation that will stay looking nice all day. I love this matte version of born this way as it is not overly matte, but it sets itself down nicely, I only need to powder under my eyes and it doesn’t get oily at all on me throughout the day. I have a normal-dry skin type so if you have oilier skin, that could be different for you. This is basically a fool proof foundation that I can rely on when I know I need a trusted foundation for all day wear.
OFRA x Steph Toms Milk & Cookies Highlighter (£27)
I picked up this OFRA highlighter this month (after weeks of it being sold out) as it looked beautiful, and I quite like Steph Toms on Youtube! I have never used OFRA before this, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I absolutely love this two toned highlighter and I am so glad I decided to buy it. It is quite an intense highlighter which really gives you a glow! However, it does not emphasise texture or look too glittery. You get one pearly champagne shade and a deeper warmer champagne shade which has bronze undertones. I like to mix the two shades together, and use the lighter shade on the inner corner of my eyes. If you want a super glowy go to highlighter I really recommend this one. I can’t wait to wear this one out out with a super glam makeup look.
Function of Beauty Leave-in Hair Treatment (£19)
I’m sure most people have heard of Function of Beauty custom hair care by now, but for those that haven’t they create custom hair care products based on your hair type and hair goals. I have been using the shampoo & conditioner from the brand for a long time now (you can see my full unsponsored Function of Beauty review for my thoughts on those here), but I have only just now started to use this leave-in treatment after adding it onto my recent order. You can use this product in a number of ways, but I have been using it on damp hair after washing and adding a little bit in between washes if the lengths of my hair have been feeling a bit dry. This adds hydration and smooths the hair out so nicely, making it softer than before. It is a lightweight cream so it doesn’t weigh the hair down.
Lights Lacquer Nail Polish in Marie ($9.50)
If you read my favourites posts regularly, you will know I rarely include a nail polish, however I am featuring one in my April favourites. I am a fan of Kathleen Lights and I have wanted to purchase some of her brands polishes for a while now, and finally I bit the bullet and placed an order. It took a while to arrive as it was coming from the USA, but I only picked up 3 shades, so I didn’t have to pay customs! Marie is my favourite shade I ordered, and I just knew it would be! In fact the launch of this shade is what made me finally place an order. This is a very sheer pink with a jelly finish. I love jelly finish polishes! I have been wearing just one coat of this for a super subtle wash of colour, but you can also layer this up for more colour payoff. I don’t have the best nails, but I also rarely can be bothered going all out to paint my nails nicely. Using Marie is so quick and easy as I don’t need to be overly precise due to how sheer it is. It’s perfect for every day and I can even wear it to work. The formula is great – it does not chip very quickly (just remember to wear gloves when washing the dishes!). If you’re a polish lover, I recommend checking this one out.
Giorgio Armani My Way Eau De Parfum (£56 for 30ml)
I don’t tend to mention fragrances in these favourites posts very often, however I have fallen in love with this Armani scent. It is a newer launch from them and it is my far my favourites fragrance they do! This reminds me of a hot summers day, greenhouses, botanical gardens orchards all in one. I am not the best at describing scents, which is perhaps why I don’t mention them so much here on my blog, but I will share the notes & what the brand have to say so you get a better idea: ‘a bright bouquet of tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom, enhanced by a vibrant cedarwood and warm vanilla. To me, it almost smells quite like plums.. I definitely recommend giving this a smell if you’re looking in store for a new fragrance.
That’s all for my April favourites! What have you been loving this April? Let me know in the comments below!
