Skincare Saviours That Transformed My Skin!

Hi everyone! I hope you’ve all been well this past week and had a great start to May. Today I want to share with you some of my skincare saviours; products which transformed my skin! I am pretty happy with my skin at the moment (other than the hereditary dark circles under my eyes which unfortunately I just can’t shift), so I thought now is a great time to share some of the products I use daily which have made my skin so much better & healthier.

I have not included a cleanser in this skincare saviours post because I have quite a few that I love – Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser, ARK Age Protect Skin Clear Cleanser to name just a few. However, I don’t think these cleansers are responsible for transforming my skin. I think with wash off treatments like cleansers, as long as you are making sure to thoroughly cleanse your skin, not strip it and you enjoy the cleanser you choose, you can really go for whatever you fancy! I think the products you leave on your skin either throughout the day or overnight are the most important, so that is what I have focused on as my skincare saviours in this post.

PRODUCTS FROM MY MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE:

Elizabeth Arden Superstart Skin Renewal Booster (£60 for 50ml)
We’re starting off with a pricey one… probably one of the most expensive products I use. I absolutely love this Superstart from Arden because since I started using this in my morning skincare routine, the overall health of my skin has massively improved. Any breakouts heal quicker and my skin looks way more radiant. Arden say using this before other serums & moisturisers will boost the effectiveness of those products too – I am not sure if that is true or not, but all my products work well so perhaps that is true! Although this is expensive, it has lasted me a very long time as I only use one pump per day and that is enough for my whole face. I wasn’t sure if I would repurchase this based on the price, but I have decided that I will because my skin loves it and for me it is worth it! If you can pop into a store with an Elizabeth Arden counter, see if they have any samples for you to try because I think you would fall in love with this product too and it could become a skincare saviour like it has for me.

Clinique All About Eyes Rich (£28.50 for 15ml)
I have spoken about this Clinique eye cream quite a few times on my blog, but I of course needed to include it in my Skincare saviours too! I have dry under eyes with fine lines and I love to use a rich creamy product. I have tried quite a lot of eye creams because my under eyes are probably the area that needs the most help, and this Clinique All About Eyes Rich is my favourite one ever and I use it every morning. I am on my second pot now. This one really hydrates my under eyes and smooths out the fine lines, makeup sits so much nicer on the under eye area now I use this every day. I do sometimes use this in the evening too, but I currently have a Kiehl’s one I am using up in the evenings. I don’t think this makes a HUGE difference on the darkness under my eyes, but mine is hereditary, maybe if you have darkness due to lack of sleep etc, it could help!

bareMinerals Butter Drench Restorative Rich Cream (£29 for 50ml)
If you have dry skin and love a rich moisturiser, I recommend this bareMinerals one above all others. This one literally feels like melted butter and it softens the skin instantly and calms the dryness. I don’t use this every day as I have normal to dry skin, so sometimes if my skin isn’t particularly dry that day I will opt for something a bit lighter. But on days my skin feels drier, I know reaching for this will sort me out. I do also use this in the evening some days, but it depends if I am going to be using my face oil (which I will speak about soon!). I am almost completely out of this, so I will be repurchasing soon.

SOS SPF 50 (£15 for 50ml)
Using SPF every single day has definitely made my skin so much better so I wanted to mention my favourite SPF as one of my skincare saviours. If you’re not already using a SPF daily please consider doing so, as it protects your skin so much. My skin has been less dry and overall healthier. I love this one as despite it being SPF 50, it doesn’t leave a white cast and it doesn’t feel too heavy or greasy on the skin. Once this has soaked in, it just leaves the skin feeling hydrated and protected!

PRODUCTS FROM MY EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE:

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (£5 for 30ml)
I know so many people love and rave about this Niacinamide serum from The Ordinary, but it is also one of my skincare saviours so I wanted to speak about it too! I use this every evening after cleansing the skin. Niacinamide is often recommended for those with oily skin as it balances sebum production and can help reduce the look of blemishes, it has also worked wonders on my skin which is more normal to dry. I tend to get redness on my skin, and using this every night that redness has definitely reduced leaving me with a more even complexion. The addition of zinc is great as it really helps to heal wounds in the skin leading to better skin health.

Facetheory BHA Exfoliant Serum (£18.99 for 30ml)
I was gifted this a few months ago from the brand but this is not an ad at all. This really has transformed my skin! My skin is so much smoother and texture has been massively reduced. This is a chemical exfoliating serum which contains salicylic acid and green tea extract. Prior to this I found my skin never really reacted the best to chemical exfoliants, however now I have found this one I will absolutely continue to use and repurchase. If you’re struggling to find a chemical exfoliant which works for you, definitely check this out.

VOTARY Super Seed Facial Oil (£70 for 50ml)
Only really this year did I start to incorporate a facial oil in my skincare routine but it has been game changing in my opinion. I got this one in my Cult Beauty Advent calendar at Christmas so I thought I may as well give it a go! I only use a couple drops on my skin roughly every other evening. This makes my skin look so glowing and hydrated and it feels really nourished in the morning. This particular oil contains so many good oils that are amazing for the skin and skin health! It is definitely a pricey product, but I am going through it slowly as I only need to use a little amount each time, so I am sure I will have it for a long time. Maybe after I use this up I will repurchase, or maybe I will try a new oil.

Too Faced Hangover Pillow Balm (£18 for 6ml)
I’m not sure if lip balm can really count as a skincare saviour, but I am obsessed with this! If you have dry lips like so many of us do, then I recommend this Too Faced Pillow Balm 100%! Since I have been using this regularly I haven’t had dry, sore or chapped lips once which is amazing. I use this every night before bed and some mornings too. This makes the lips feel nourished and hydrated and also a little bit plump too. I know £18 is quite pricey for a lip balm but it is definitely worth it in my opinion as it works ten times better than the cheaper ones. I am about to start my second tube of this and I will definitely repurchase time and time again.

That’s all for my skincare savours which really transformed my skin! Please do leave any skincare recommendations below as I love trying new products out and finding new favourites.

Thanks so much for reading & I hope you found this post useful.
