Hi everyone! I hope you’ve all been having a great June & start to Summer. I’m excited about todays post as it’s another empties – my favourite kind of posts to write and read! I have quite a lot of skincare to talk about this time, as well as some makeup & body care. So if you’re interested in hearing my thoughts on some of the products I’ve used up entirely then just keep reading. Lets get into the empties!
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (£5.90)
Starting with a super popular product for this empties, and one I have mentioned a few times on my blog. I get on well with The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid, I use it under a moisturiser to give my skin an extra boost of hydration on a deeper level. Hyaluronic Acid is such an in demand ingredient right now, it’s amazing for all skin types to hydrate the skin giving it a plump healthy look. I love this one and it is so affordable. The formula is fairly sticky which I wasn’t keen on at first, however I quickly got used to it and learnt how to work with it.
Repurchase? Already have.
Elizabeth Arden Superstart Skin Renewal Booster (£60 for 50ml)
I am literally so sad I have completely used this one up as I love it so much, and it is pretty pricey. I have spoke about this a lot, but it is so good! I use this as the first step after cleansing. It helps to repair the skin and help skin stay healthy. It is also meant to boost the effectiveness of other skincare products – I couldn’t say if that’s true but all my skincare works well! I really noticed a difference in the overall appearance and health of my skin when I added this into my routine and now I don’t have it I worry my skin is going to break out..
Repurchase? Maybe if my skin isn’t happy without it, but it is so pricey!
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Cleanser (£16.50)
If you’ve read many of my empties posts before, or skincare posts, then you will likely know how much I love this one! It’s my favourite cleanser as it feels so gentle and nourishing on my skin whilst also leaving it super clean. Lots of cleansers dry my skin out as it already leans on the dry side, so it’s important I use one that doesn’t do that. The creamy formula of this one works perfect for me. I am currently using a version which is a ‘rose & lavender’ scent of this, and the scent is really not nice in my opinion; I much prefer the original like this one!
Repurchase? Yes.
This Works Morning Expert Hyaluronic Serum (£37)
Another hyaluronic acid serum that I’ve used up recently. This one is considerably more pricey, and I do really like it! But the price tag feels super steep, especially as the one from The Ordinary is so affordable. This one is different as it has a blend of hyaluronic acid as well as vitamin C which genuinely helps to both brighten and hydrate the skin. I loved using this up in the mornings, it gave such a healthy glow. If you have a lot of dullness in your skin then I think you would enjoy this a lot.
Repurchase? Maybe in the future however I feel I can achieve these results with cheaper products.
Clarins Lip Comfort Oil in Raspberry (£19)
I haven’t used many Clarins products, but this lip oil was something I had my eyes on a while before I finally purchased. This feels super nice on the lips; it is thicker than a standard ‘oil’ which makes it stay on the lips for longer and leaves them feeling hydrated. This raspberry one is transparent on the lips, however some of the scents have a hint of colour in them too. I love this a lot, however I think I prefer the Too Faced Pillow Balm so I likely won’t repurchase.
Repurchase? At least not yet.
Primark Naturals Balm to Oil Cleanser
I’ve finally used up this Primark balm cleanser and it is ready to go in an empties! I can’t remember how much it was, but it was not expensive. It did the job well, melting off my makeup. It didn’t leave much of a film on my skin after use, however this wouldn’t bother me either way as of course I always go in with another cleanser after using a balm to remove makeup.
Repurchase? I would but I haven’t seen it in store since.
BYBI Bakuchiol Booster (£12)
I have loved having this BYBI serum booster and I’m sad it’s all used up! Bakuchiol is a natural alternative to retinol which is said to cause less irritation to skin whilst also giving you the collagen boosting properties that retinol does. This really helps with skin texture as well as making my skin look more hydrated. I like using this in the evening.
Repurchase? When I’ve used up some more products in my skincare cabinet!
bareMinerals Butter Drench Restorative Rich Cream (£29)
I absolutely love this moisturiser and really recommend it for anyone who has dry skin who loves a nice thick cream. This intensely hydrates the skin leaving it so soft, smooth and nourished. I mostly used this in the evenings but I also like it for the day time if my skin feels like it needs it! I definitely will miss this so it’s sad to see it in my empties, and I’ll likely get it again, but I have a few other thick creams I’d like to use up first.
Repurchase? Probably at some point.
Clinique All About Eyes Rich (£28.50)
If you have read my blog much (or a few empties!), you’ll know this is my ride or die eye cream. This really changed my under eyes. My skin is naturally dry and it is even more emphasised under my eyes, and this thick cream based product really leaves my under eyes so moisturised! The fine lines under my eyes are less obvious when I have used this due to the moisture, and makeup sits so much nicer on the area now.
Repurchase? Always.
Clinique Moisture Surge (£25 for 30ml)
(This is the old formulation but the new one apparently is very very similar). This is such a classic moisturiser and I think it’s such a nice option if you want something light weight but still very hydrating for the skin. I love how fresh this feels, leaving the skin soft! This one was just a mini, but I have used a full size one up in the past too. I have got a full review of this one up on my blog if you’re interested.
Repurchase? I have another mini.
Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
I finally have thrown this into my empties after having it sit in my bag as an ‘for emergencies’ for way too long. It’s pretty much empty anyway. I’m not obsessed with this, it doesn’t have the best coverage and I feel like it sits in the lines under my eyes. I don’t think you can get this brand anymore, so I’m glad I’m not obsessed.
Repurchase? No.
KVD Go Big Or Go Home Masacara Mini (£11)
I absolutely rate this mascara. It gives me full volume, separated fluffy lashes. I like the synthetic bristle wand as it feels more gentle and never scratches my eyes. This mini lasted me so long, and I have a full size one in my makeup collection too. I recommend giving this a go if you’re wanting a new mascara.
Repurchase? Already have one.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge (£6)
I have used up many of the Real Techniques sponges because they’re affordable and they perform well for me! I use these to blend out my mascara every day.
Repurchase? Yes.
Duo Lash Glue (£6)
Another essential that I always use and purchase. I find Duo to make the best lash glue that actually keeps the lash attached for the full day! The cheap glues that come in the pack with some false lashes just never work for me.
Repurchase? Yes.
The Body Shop British Rose Body Butter Mini (£6)
It’s no secret that I do really like The Body Shop for body care products – their shower gels, body butters & body scrubs have always been some of my faves. I love the rose scent, it’s super floral and feminine. This body butter is an ‘instant glow’ body butter and it really does give your skin that boost as soon as you apply it and you look so much healthier!
Repurchase? At some point.
Dr Jart+ Cryo Rubber So Cool Face Mask Duo (£16)
I picked this up when it was on offer at Boots as I was intrigued and wanted to give them a go. I did enjoy using both of the masks. One was a moisturising mask with hyaluronic acid and the other was a soothing mask! They left my skin feeling nice and perfectly prepped for makeup of skincare. I don’t know if two sheet (rubber) masks are worth £16..
Repurchase? Probably not.
Jack Wills #NOFILTER Fruit Body Wash Mini
I got this in a gift set on my birthday and I recently used it up. I liked this, it’s a nice gel consistency that foams up nicely, smells really good and fruity and leaves me feeling super clean (but not in a drying way). I don’t know if you can purchase this individually, but I would if I saw it!
Repurchase? If I ever see it.
Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask Mini (£6.90)
I got this in the Cult Beauty advent calendar at Christmas time. I love getting mini Elemis products to try and everything I have got to try from them I’ve enjoyed! They’re generally a pricey brand, however this mask isn’t bad at £30 for 75ml. My skin tends to lean on the dry side, so I like to use hydrating, nourishing masks – they give my skin a nice boost and this is no different. This doesn’t smell amazing… but it is full of ‘vital veggies’.
Repurchase? Maybe.
Lynx Attract For Her Fresh Temptation Bodywash
This is another shower gel I got in a gift set! I liked the scent of this, however I felt that this slipped off my skin so easily and I went through it quick as so much of it seemed to slip down the drain before I had a chance to lather it up.
Repurchase? Probably not.
That’s all for this empties! Have you used many of these? Let me know in the comments below!
