NEW makeup in my collection!

Hey everyone, spring is coming! & I’m so happy to see the brighter days. I’m sure I’ll be complaining about being too hot soon, so I’m going to enjoy the mild bright weather whilst I can. A change in season always makes me want to try out some new makeup, and sure enough I’ve recently picked up a few new pieces that I’ve had my eye on for a while.

Tarte Maneater Mascara Mini (£14)
I got this as a gift for my birthday back in January but I wanted to mention it in this post as I haven’t spoken about it on my blog at all yet. This is such a good mascara and when I’ve used up a few more mascara’s in my makeup collection I will definitely be looking to purchase the full size. This gives me such good length and a good amount of volume and curl too. I love how separated my lashes look with this one and the brush just seems to coat each lash perfectly. This one doesn’t smudge or crumble at all, so if you’re looking to try out a new mascara I really recommend this one!

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Liner (£17)  and Pillow Talk Lipstick (£25)
I’ve wanted to try these classic Charlotte Tilbury lip products for a while now, and I finally decided to just bite the bullet and treat myself. I love pinky nude shades so I knew for sure I was going to adore this shade, and I wasn’t wrong. It’s the perfect tone and I can’t see it looking bad on anyone! These products are matte, but they aren’t TOO matte or drying at all, they’re more of a satin finish. I like to wear these with a gloss a lot of the time, and I’m definitely tempted to give a Charlotte Tilbury lipgloss a go as these products are such good quality!

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Makeup Finishing Powder (£35)
Since I am hitting pan on my favourite Too Faced pressed powder, I thought I would try out a new option. I’ve heard really great things about this powder, apparently it makes the skin look so smooth, so I decided to give it a go. I opted for shade 1, I think it is ever so slightly too pale for me, but I also think the shade up could be a little bit dark. This does smooth the skin out nicely and sets my makeup into place, however I find it can look a little too matte/dry on my skin, despite not claiming to be a super matte powder. I do have a drier skin type, so I ideally need a nice creamy powder. I do like this powder, but I prefer my Too Faced one, which also has the added benefit of some extra coverage, so I probably wouldn’t buy this one again.

Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation (£26)
Since Rare Beauty launched in the UK not too long ago I decided to try out just a couple of bits. I love trying out new foundations, so of course I had to pick this up! I used the shade matcher on spacenk, as well as the Findation website to decide what shade to get and I opted for 140c. At first when it arrived I thought it was going to be a little pale, but this foundation does dry down a little bit darker once applied and dried, so this turned out to be a good match for me – something to bare in mind if you’re going to try it yourself. I love how light weight this foundation is, it’s probably the most light weight foundation I’ve ever tested. Despite this, it gives a really good medium coverage with a lovely natural satin finish which isn’t greasy, oily OR dry looking which lasts well throughout the day. I am such a fan of this foundation and find myself reaching for it more and more.

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush (£19)
I think this is probably the product Rare Beauty is most known for, so of course I had to pick up a shade! As much as I want to be a liquid blush lover, I actually reach for powder blush way more. However, I have absolutely fallen in love with this blush. A little goes a long way, so I put a little dot on each cheek and blend out using the It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Superstar brush (which I find is an amazing way to apply and works so much better than with a sponge). This doesn’t disturb the makeup underneath at all and gives such a nice flush to the cheeks. I have mine in the shade ‘Happy’ which is a lovely cool but pretty bright pink. I actually wanted to go for the paler options of ‘Bliss’ or ‘Hope’ but they were out of stock when I ordered, but I am glad I went with Happy as it’s such a pretty colour! Maybe I will pick up another shade soon.

In this photo I am wearing all of the makeup mentioned in this post (no mascara as fake eyelashes). Lips have clear gloss on top of the Pillow Talk products.

That’s everything new to my collection! I’ve definitely been buying less makeup the past year, and instead picking choice pieces to try out. I think this ‘haul’ was successful as I enjoy every product and will get use out of them all.

What new makeup have you tried lately? Or what do you plan on testing soon? Let me know in the comments below!
