Hi everyone! Happy new year. I hope you all had a great 2022 and have an even better 2023. For my first post of the year, I thought it was time to review the VERSO eye cream which I’ve been meaning to review for a while now.
OVERVIEW
VERSO skincare is a brand I hadn’t heard much about when I got this eye cream in a beauty advent calendar a while back. I was pretty excited to try this product as my under eyes are my most ‘troublesome’ area – they’re very dry & also pretty dark.
The VERSO eye cream is described as ‘rich textured’ that will provide a ‘healthy hydration level’ for ‘dry, dehydrated skin in need of a powerful moisture surge’. It contains oat lipids and oils with a high concentration of antioxidants, ceramides and fatty acids. It also has yeast extract which optimises skins hyaluronic acid levels. VERSO say that with continued use the result is smooth, supple and resistant skin around the eyes.
This retails at £55 for 20ml; which is pretty pricey!
All of this sounded great for my dry under eyes! I swapped my usual (and favourite!) Clinique all about eyes rich cream with this VERSO eye cream for day and night use.
REVIEW
The texture of the VERSO eye cream is much thinner than I had anticipated, (which really I should have expected since it comes in a simple squeeze tube). I would not describe this as a rich texture as advertised. Nevertheless, it felt nice and moisturising, if not a little basic. I applied a small amount under both eyes and gently tapped this into the skin.
After using this for around about a week or two, my under eyes began to get incredibly dry, and the cream actually stung a little on occasion when applied to the very dry area. I would not say I have particularly sensitive skin, perhaps I have had a reaction to this, however I just believe that this cream was not moisturising enough for my under eyes, resulting in sore skin which would sting when product is applied! My under eyes were SERIOUSLY missing my Clinique all about eyes rich. However I did continue using just the VERSO eye cream for over three weeks.
Overall the VERSO eye cream is a very simple, basic eye cream which will not provide enough hydration and moisturise for dry under eyes. If you don’t have dry under eyes then this eye cream may be for you, however for £55 I really do not believe this is worth it at all. I will try to use this up, as I don’t like to waste products, however I will be using the Clinique option in the evenings to keep that dryness at bay!
I hope that you enjoyed this post. Please feel free to leave your thoughts on this one in the comments below! Jazmin xx
My skin isn’t dry but I do suffer from very dark skin beneath my eyes. I have been looking for a good eye cream for a while now. I haven’t heard about this range before but I’ll look into it further. Maybe as my skin isn’t so sensitive, this product might work for me. Thanks for sharing an honest review!
