Yearly Makeup Favourites 2018

Hey everyone!

It’s time for my yearly favourites… I’ve been loving reading everyone else’s yearly favourites and as always I wanted to join in and share the things that I really loved in 2018. This time I’m just going to talk about my makeup favourites, because I have quite a lot of them, and if I include everything else such as skin care, it’s going to go on foreverrrrr! I hope you enjoy this post, and let me know in the comments below if you’ve also been loving any of these products, or just share other things you think I should try.

NYX Honey Dew Me Up Primer
This was pretty much the only primer I used in 2018. I absolutely love this one. It gives my skin such a healthy glow and makes my makeup go on much nicer! I have fairly dry skin, so the extra dewiness really helps. I’ll definitely continue using this.

Kat Von D Lock It Foundation
I’ve used a lot of different foundations this year, but the Kat Von D Lock It has definitely been one of my favourites! I love how smoothly it goes on, doesn’t sink into fine lines, has just the right amount of coverage and other products go on top it lovely too. I also love that I have found my most perfect shade. I always go for this foundation if I want something that I know will last a super long time.

Maybelline SuperStay Foundation
I couldn’t not include this foundation in my yearly favourites as it’s been one of the best discoveries this year. I love how full coverage this is and the staying power is great! I find it goes on super matte, so I definitely need that Honey Dew Me Up primer underneath to let it go on smoother. This is an affordable option too so I’ve been loving it for every day use.

Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer
I’ve only had this for a few months, but since I purchased it I’ve used it every day and it’s taken the place of all my other concealers. The coverage is great, it looks so fresh on the skin and the creasing isn’t so bad either (which is something I struggle with). It’s fairly pricey for a concealer, specially considering the prices of some other fab concealers, but for me it’s worth it.

2018 favourites

Zoeva Contour Spectrum Palette
I only use two of the four powders in the palette – the contour and the bronzer, but those are so amazing that I had to include the palette in this post. It’s a fairly affordable product, so for me it’s worth it for the two shades that I love. The powders are so finely milled and go on super smoothly. They don’t look muddy on the skin at all either. I used this a lot in the year, specially when I was going for a glam look.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Blush in Santa Rose
If you read any of my makeup look posts in 2018, you’ll know this is pretty much the only blush I used. I really need to venture out of my blush comfort zone – but how can I when this is so pretty and so affordable?! This shade goes with pretty much everything. It’s a buildable powder too, so you can add a lot or a little. Maybe this year I should try something new… but this will always be a firm fave.

Revolution x Soph Highlighter Palette
This highlighter palette is basically all’s you need when it comes to highlighters – unless you’re into subtle ones… This one is really shimmery and sheeny. I love the colour options in here and there’s something for every skin tone. I used this an awful lot in 2018 and I haven’t even hit pan on any of the shades. I love to mix a couple colours together too, so it really is versatile. It’s also only £8 for 8 shades which is such a bargain.

L’oreal Brow Artist Plumper
I used this brow plumper for the majority of the year! I picked it up when my Rimmel brow this way ran out, but I think I prefer this one now. I love setting my brows in place to keep them looking fresh and fluffy. This gel doesn’t disappoint.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
This has been my go to mascara for probably over a year if I’m honest. It just never lets me down! It gives me both volume and length, and it doesn’t smudge or crumble all over my eyes and face. I have a lot of great mascaras that I alternate between, but this one jus can’t be beaten.

Morphe Bronzed Mocha Eyeshadow Palette
We all have that go to palette that’s full of neutral / natural colours right? This has everything I need for a basic smoky eye. I use this for day to day looks and the shadows are really great quality. They’re easy to work with, which is ideal for when I want to quickly do my makeup. I love this palette and I don’t think I could have lived without it in 2018.

Makeup Revolution Re-Loaded Newtrals 3 Eyeshadow Palette
I absolutely loved this palette in 2018, and for £4 you really can’t go wrong. The pinks and purples in this have been go-to shades for both daily wear and when I’ve been going out too! They’re super pigmented shadows, so if you haven’t picked up any of the Revolution palettes, you definitely should.

Zoeva Cocoa Blends Eyeshadow Palette
This has been another one of my favourite palettes for the last year. The shadows from Zoeva are so creamy and blendable, and they last ages on the eyes too. I love this palette specifically – it has everything I need for either a day time OR night time look. I love the pops of colour.

Lime Crime Velvetines Liquid Lipstick in Polly
Lime Crime make some of the best liquid lipsticks in my opinion. The formula is really amazing – it’s super matte but I don’t find them drying and they last the entire day! Polly is a purple shade, which sounds so unwearable but actually I find it perfect for most occasions.

NYX Matte Suede Lipstick in Rose The Day
This one is more of a recent discovery, towards the latter end of the year, but I couldn’t not include it. I love the formula of these so much. Bullet lipsticks are so comfortable to wear, but I find it hard to find ones that last well and still look matte. However, this one does both those things! I’ll definitely be purchasing more shades of this, but Rose The Day is a perfect peachy nude.

Mac Flat Out Fabulous

Mac Retro Matte Lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous
I almost forgot to include this one because it’s definitely a spring/summer shade so I haven’t worn it in the past winter months, however it has been an absolute favourite over the course of 2018. I love the brightness of it and the fact it stays on all day without smudging. Mac still make some of my favourite lipsticks.

That’s all my faves for 2018.. quite a lot… feel free to leave a comment below!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
